As per the Bluemour File OP, this is a thread for discussing Carlton related rumours.
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/bluemour-file.1085141/

Rumour posters should post their rumours in both threads for those that like just to read rumours and for those that like to have get lost in their rumour files.

I get the context of your post, but Saad ran 3rd in the B&F. One spot and just behind the much vaunted Zac Merrett.

Essendon didn't have a great year in the whole, but yes....just pointing out that there may have been other matters that affected any stats put forward.

He's still the right player for us and we may have chose to acquire a better credentialed player elsewhere, but that alone wouldn't have made him the better fit for the whole/hole....

We need to field a reserves side, Cas if not in the seniors will be the only power forward. Perhaps they are looking at it from this angle and if he comes good happy days.
Why not Mason Wood then? Shown more and not a head knock away from a lawsuit...

There has been a lot of work done by Carlton, Saad and his management team to talk sense into the Saad deal. They’ve talked it down from 8 + (one of our under 22 year old first rounders) to working around us getting some change from Pick 8.
It’s at a tricky impasse at the moment. Daniher getting band 1 compo means any offer we make to split our pick 8 with Geelong or Brisbane can now be trumped by Essendon. The club is acutely aware of how negotiations went with Papley and Martin last year, and there is growing sentiment that when you convince a player to come, you need to make sure it happens smoothly, otherwise there are fears players and managers won’t want to work with us in the future.
As it stands the deal will have pick 8 going to the bombers with change yet to be agreed upon.

Don't see how this makes sense when Saad and his team have come out saying they will go to the PSD.

If pick 8 goes to Essendope I expect Austin to resign on the spot.

The issue again as it was with Martin is the AFL gifting picks and therefore devaluing picks to clubs. Happened last year with Foldcoast and now with Essendope.

David Teague won a B&F. I doubt anyone would have given up a 3rd rounder for him

So like Plow but a year older. Gotcha.

What did Plow cost again? A portion of pick 28 was it?

Plow cost a portion of Pick 28........plus about half a Million of salary dump money. Good business for where we were, but lets not pretend we got him for a portion of Pick 28.

Plus Plow has had 1 top 6 B&F year whereas Saad has been Top 4 three in a row.

If this Saad trade has taught me anything then pick 2 + Ben McKay is a reasonable request.

Works for me.

That's because he couldn't back it up. 1 hit wonder. Plenty of them. Saad is a consistent topliner in his prime.

There were four players for pick 28 no? All of which we had some hope for...and he was what 22?

If we are going to use the randomness of B&F results at poor to middling clubs to assign value then we should probably pay closer attention to Supercoach points..

I guess does a Jack Silvagni and a Jesse Hogan = a Jeremy Cameron?

SoS is dirty on CFC. That is evident.
Someone just rang up and suggested Saad & pick 26 for pick 8. SoS replied 'you don't have to give them anything back' and Rendell added give them pick 48 if anything. The smirks on their faces highlighted the media bias evident. Truly feel sad that it has come to this with SoS.

SOS is a big boy, the only one making him act like an ass is himself .....

Absolute garbage
Martin and Williams have nothing to do with it

Sometimes you have a win getting a player to the club, sometimes you might be seen to pay overs.
Who really cares if you get the player you want unless you have to sell the farm for them (Shiel for example).
