As per the Bluemour File OP, this is a thread for discussing Carlton related rumours.
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/bluemour-file.1085141/

Rumour posters should post their rumours in both threads for those that like just to read rumours and for those that like to have get lost in their rumour files.

Remember ... #Bluemour

When Carlton walked Martin to the draft, did it create problems in attracting players to Carlton?

Why take the risk in doing it again though.
What if a player nominates us in 2021, and in the back of their mind we might have to walk them as well.
SOS even said that you have to prepare the player for the prospect of being walked to the PSD.
I'd rather just do the deal, and get the player that we want.

That was entirely because of his numerous concussions and concerns for his long term health.

I would be very disappointed if the club is even thinking of McCartin.

We wouldn't have the expertise within the club to make an assessment if he could comeback. I wouldn't be listening to those he has paid for a second opinion.

So we'd need to seek our own experts, is Dr Bennet Omalu free? Plus I'd want an expert with understanding of TBI & diabetes.

A lot of posters are undervaluing Saad here. 26yo Top 4 B&F 3 years in a row at a team in and around the 8. I think this is happening because posters here are used to bashing everything * plus they want to "beat" Dodoro in a trade. And not just beat, but thrash him lol.

The way i look at it as a Carlton man and an * laugher at'erer, is we have stuck a shiv in them by pinching one of their Top 3 players in the age range they have recruited for years to compete with. Losing Daniher, Saad and Fantasia leaves the list they have traded around for years in a complete mess. They are forked, and we've now had a small hand in it :thumbsu:. 6,000 is now a near certainty to become at least 7,500 days.

So far we've heard from 4 actual list managers and how they rate Saad.

Dodoro - a bit higher than Pick 8.
Austin - a bit lower than Pick 8.
Silvagni - Pick 8.
Rendell - Pick 8.

We have Pick 8 so that is what is being worked around obviously. It was never going to be easy to trade that for 2 other 1sts. People took that for granted way too easily. We could still move it, but it would be a bonus if we could.

The narrative here that 8 in this draft is way overs for Saad has always had hairs on it imo. 26yo professional gun with the qualities we require.

I have always been, and remain, unflustered by what we pay for him. It will, and always will be between professionals, an inch or so either side of the line of "FAIR" as judged by the industry.

2021 - Finals bound. It's different for us fans, but we'll get our heads around it. ;)

Perfect post TW!

Hawks gave up what, Pk 13 for Tom Mitchell
So a fair Pk for Saad should have a 2 in front of it.

With all due respect, we will be the laughing stock if we use pick 8 on a HBF’er that dazzles a bit with his run and can butcher it by foot, whom only touches the thing 19 times a game.
Picks in the top 10 are for elite trades and elite kids, Saad, I like him, but he’s not elite, nor an A-grader.
Have to admit CC, I'm a bit surprised by this. Love your work on the Bay, but who gives a **** what anyone else thinks about us?

I mean yeah not wanting to overpay I can understand, but we'd be taking one of * best players, surely that makes up any difference in value when it comes to bragging rights?

If we have given him a medical, then perhaps we have looked at these things. I can't condemn the club on the basis of that rumour. You'd hope we'd do due diligence, not for our sake as the cost would be fairly negligible, but for the sake of Paddy himself.

Martin McKay Williams
JSilvagni McCartin Fisher

Throw in McGovern and we'd have ourselves a full-blown, Jack, Zac, Mac attack.

McDonalds can stop suing Hungry Jack's and they can both sue us.

This didn't make sense to me.

Can you re-post 2a and 2b??

Exactly. Been saying it for a while now, this draft is a write off for pretty much everyone. Just get Saad. If that means pick 8 plus our 3rd round for Saad and their future 2nd just get it done.

I don't believe SOS would do that deal if he was still in charge. Maybe he is helping his mate Dodoro out. Maybe he is proving a point about the nerves of steel a List Manager must have to not go outside their preset parameters.
Whilst we have #7 (now #8) our priority has to be to use it for a mid-fielder. Get Oliver or Trealour in, in that order then we deal with what's left for Saad.

Saad is not the cover that Cripps needs. You want him to go to Freo next year?

Get somebody in the midfield and target Merrit for next - then we're talking flags.

In a ideal world McGovern for sadd
Dow for there pick 10
Package 8 & 10 for Oliver or move up in the draft
A lot of us are saying 8 is way to much for Saad, and you think someone will give us 10 for Dow?
As Sleepy Joe says........C’mon man!

Great post TW.

Just one thing though, are you basing your comments of what you think Austin believes Saad is worth on the back of the last information by 43? I have yet to hear Austin discussing the trade

On another, what would these industry leaders suggest Saad is worth, if we held pick 15, rather than 8

Austin needs to get creative, trade pick 8 to to include getting back a late 1st and something else, rather than working with pick 8 as the main component of the Saad trade

Plenty of other interested buyers
Thats the thing though. What if we can't split 8 with another club.
