Think we should look at Constable as a last minute trade option imo.
Let's say we take a chance on him and give pick 38, I really don't see how we could lose from doing that.
Looked a very decent player in his first few games he played for the cats and hasn't been given much of an opportunity since then. As Oliver isn't happening, Constable plays a very similar style to him and would come at a fraction of the cost (picks and money wise)
Even if it doesn't work out and he becomes another Lang/Smedts we don't lose much given what we paid.
No

So you're expecting Saad to repeat his top 3 B&F finishes at the blues? Or become a captaincy candidate?

Saad and Zac are far more similar than Saad and Doc. And an easier comparison to make given that both have been traded recently.

And for what it's worth Doc was actually traded for a pick in the 30's, despite being taken at pick 12. And why was this so? Because he was out of contract.
Not true. He was traded for a pick in the 30's because he had only played 13 games and told the club due to homesickness that he wanted to return to Victoria.

And you are seriously over rating Zac. Good player and good servant but the others have him well covered in my opinion.

Not so sure about 5 years he will be 32 in that final season and relies heavily on his pace, if he remains injury free yes but if he starts to suffer soft tissue injuries as most of that ilk do then I don't see him being much help towards the back of that contract. It is a wait and see for now but extremely risky imo to lock anyone away well past 30 on a long term deal.
We age them quickly these days. Huge list of players still dominating into their 30s. Remember Craig Bradley and his pace? Arguably Saad has a similar level of professionalism, fitness and commitment to his body.

What happened with Sam Skinner, i thought the Lions rated him at one point?

Can play back/forward and Ruck.
Injury free for 3 years, aggressive and if he wasn’t at Brisbane would be a 60 game KPD.
Captain with Dunkley and Played FF with Harry McKay at Gippsland Power.

Some newbies for the ignore list 😍

I haven't ignored a single person in my 7 years here but I must admit I've been seriously tempted lately. I get close every trade period and when reading autopsy threads during the season.

This is my last post for the year.

We had a 1st round pick which is essential to get quality mids - which we need. What did we do with it? We diluted it to get a HBF,

I'm old enough to remember when we got Dorotich. Kernahan. Bradley and Motley in a single year.

Light-weight compliant management at this Club.

Rip it up! Even Saints with $20M in debt is recruiting better than us.

Absolute BS that they didn't get a quality mid this year and then step up with Merritt next year.

The objective is to win a flag not just to improve the list.
Woah..... that is some comparison. The days of signing big names without any costs are way gone. Since those days we now have a salary cap and draft. As for the saints.......they may still fold, they have no soul only kulcha.

Getting Fogarty for nothing doesn't really change the fact we just gave Essendon a free leg up to Cup 17 by overpaying for a HBF. Picks 6, 7, 8 is a really strong foundation to rebuild from and they already have half a team, we have set them up to be a contender in the not too distant future IMO.
Let’s see what they do with it first. No KP player that’s decent. The ones they have are past it. No ruckman. A game plan that relies on running backs which they’ve lost. Their best player is Jordan Ridley. Not a single for forward that scares any team in the AFL. If Dunkley goes there just career is done.

There's a difference between having an opinion and carrying on like a soap opera.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of the AFL trade period.

I have no doubt Williams will be a good player for us - a huige improvement on at least one Club hero being nursed to a milestone, thats for sure. Wether he is as good in midfield as he is at HB - remains to be seen I am confident.
I have seen and also confident.

Saad very big upgrade on Simpson too.

Top 4 is possible Pankaj thinks.
