Great shooping..

Had to look twice it was so realistic! 🤣

Thanks mate, I put my super good credentials into the Carlton media department, its been a few months now, I'm sure they're just busy.

You think that's realistic, you wait until coach wolf starts eating people mid-game.

BT: I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS, CUNNINGHAM IS EATING THE OTHER CARLTON PLAYERS ON THE FIELD, ITS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW, OVER TO YOUR THOUGHTS IN A MINUTE JIMMY.

Sam Edmund has just reported on SEN that clubs have been sussing out Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, who he says is becoming increasingly disillusioned with life at the Dogs and that he may be gettable. JUH has been doing some training with Fev, as he's now dating Mia Fevola...any chance this puts us at the front of the queue to get him? Think he'd be a pretty nice addition to our forward line...
If JUH is unhappy because he is not getting a game, he needs to look within himself. He will start getting a game when his efforts at VFL level warrant it. I've watched him a few times & his work rate is somewhat underwhelming.

I havent watch any other game for the vfl dogs, but in our game against him, he popped up, did a couple of nice things… then disappeared again.

They'd want a kings ransom for him, 2 first rounders bare minimum, Dogs would be completely mad to trade him, regardless of what he wants.

Was curious myself the other day why he hadn't played yet, Bulldogs supporters said he doesn't have the fitness base, Bevo holding off until absolutely ready + they think we'll see him a few times, hasn't played any VFL in a month so needs to get some 2's time.

Also he wants to leave as he didn't get picked to go with the rest of the squad out of Victoria? An 18 year old kid, lol.

Poor workrate. Poor overall fitness base and low stamina.

If there are three things that will prevent you from getting AFL games he's hitting the trifecta.

Will be a gun but needs to work for it. Word on the street? At this stage he's never had to.

Agree, it's early doors but he doesn't have to look far away to see what can happen when you don't take the bull by the horns... Schache.

yes correct Jack Martin and chad wingard choose other clubs because of it.

This is kinda sad. I remember when my mother helped the Dogs start up the Care for Kids program (connecting it to the disadvantaged schools program) back in the 80s/90s that a few of the players who would attend schools were indigenous players. Got to know Phil Krakouer, Michael McLean, and I believe Mark West through the program.

If McKay stay's, we need MIDS and a KPD a lot more than JUH...
Going to be a good player though, if he wanted to come here you'd have to look at it.. But not an area of need..

HF: ..... - DeKoning - .....
FF: ..... - McKay - C.Curnow

Other tall forwards - Silvagni, McGovern, McDonald (most likely delisted), Casboult (most likely Retired)
You don't turn up your nose at talent like that, though, particularly if Curnow doesn't come back strongly.

For those wanting the quality mid....though as it's just Tom Browne, I won't put too much stock into it yet.

We need to go hard at Cerra. Great through the middle and can play up on a wing as well - that versatility is what makes the Bulldogs midfield so great.

However, it depends also on how the development of our young mids progresses this year. If we see Dow/Setters have an excellent back end to the season, then I don't think we should be going hard at Cerra. I'd also like to see us use Stocker and Fisher through the middle as well.

Our player development is poor. Getting JUH who is still finding his feet (and perhaps is also in need to moderating his expectations) is not a good move, particularly at the cost that will come with trying to get him. IMO the story is all fluff. Kid may not get a game this year but he will definitely get senior games next year.

Well put, getting this vibe with a lot of first rounders lately.

Who's the last player to carve out a seriously successful career on sheer talent and poor work rate? It used to be pretty common, it absolutely just does not happen these days, the modern era is ruthless and you are weeded out within 4 years.

Brad Hill was forging a good career but has been found out.

Stewie Dew maybe?

Fev maybe? Agreed it's getting rarer by the year.

We still have half a season, with nothing to play for....

9 months until we can be excited about footy again

Plenty to get excited about

Tweaks to the gameplan that will no doubt come after the bye, Kemp, Charlie, younger players getting more exposure, etc

Yeah not a bad shout.. getting exiled from one club and delisted from the other isn't a hugely successful career to me, but on-field he had plenty of moments.

Lewis Jetta worked hard at Sydney, dropped off at WC but snuck into their flag in 2018 I think..? Blew out and was delisted last year. I'd almost count him.

I heard similar the other day from someone that knows LOB - apparently it's nothing against the kid but he's never had to work for a thing. He ran @ nationals in Canada as a teenager and didn't even train apparently; not because he was lazy, but he didn't have to.

Might be interesting with Power stepping up into Barker's role. Will he push for some of the younger players he's worked with all year to be selected in the seniors? Will we see the stoppage setup change? Be it configuration, the strategy, or the personnel?

Going off last week's team, this year we've got potential debuts from Kemp, Carroll, Durdin, Ramsay. Honey almost counts here with the one game (2 because of that time as the sub?). Also players who may return to the side after suspension/injury/demotion with the likes of Plowman, Charlie, McGovern, Fogarty, SPS, O'Brien, Williamson, Parks, Kennedy, Gibbons. Not sure we'll see the two new guys Mirvok and Boyd this year.

There's a lot of names there that could make the team, and I'd be pretty keen to see some of the elder statesmen handing the torch to their successors.

Positional changes too. I'd like to see Stocker play more inside mid, Fish get some wing time along with hhf (and a little resting as small forward), etc.

Hopefully no more moves like let's play Ed on the back flank ahead of actual defenders like Docherty/Williamson/Kemp/Parks/etc. If Ed ain't tagging a mid then don't play him. Don't play inside mids as defensive wingers.

Also don't play underdone/injured/cooked players just because we want to hold a structure. If we play with one less genuine key forward but have a fit and in form alternative that's a bit smaller then that's ok.
