So....Scarlett wants to take a break.

Tomorrow is GF eve holiday. Then the the weekend. Give him next week off and then generously give him the following Monday off (hey, it's a public holiday in NSW).

Start on 5-Oct.....That's 11 days off. Sounds like a nice break to me :p

My points are very clear.

I just keep getting happy clappy defensive people quoting my posts.

All I asked was what game plan and tactics is he known for? Looking into it I couldn't find anything much from the Port side of things.

Still no definitive answer on that. Something that has been a trait of the last two coaches we've endured.

What game plan and tactics is Leppa known for? You go first.

Na mate - that's too long, he might get stale. Keep him at 7 days off that's plenty

No, plenty more people out there laugh at us.

You think this is a popular hiring? I know you know it's not.

Popular or unpopular... who really gives a shit..I'll judge his signing on results this time next year.

Reads like a PR spiel for a business school mentorship program more than a football club.

The key requirements are to win football games and finals.

That's what fans want. Not waffle filled with buzzwords.
Games and finals one is the KPI against which the coach is judged. The club needs to assess what selection criteria are most important to achieve that goal.

They've come up with strong leadership, culture, and the ability to build trust and lasting relationships as the key criteria. It's bloody obvious that we're a fragmented club at all levels, and that unity and cohesion is required if we're to move forward. If they've decided that Voss is the best person available to help achieve that, then great. Far be it from me to question the likes of Parko and Cook in assessing those qualities in a prospective coach.

Sure, we can go out and look for the unicorn coach at the end of the rainbow that ticks every criterion under the sun, but unfortunately, that's not how the world works. We prioritise what we think is most important, and we supplement any deficiencies in gameplan, strategy etc with competent assistant coaches. As long as the club and Voss are clear on what his strengths and weaknesses are, we can work around that to ensure we're well equipped as a coaching department.

And now he's back at the most successful club in the last 5 years.

Can't be too bad if they'll have him.
How do you measure success? Certainly isn't winning games or premierships if you think the pies with their high court case, racism, disgraceful treatment of players and the disintegration of a grand final list can be called successful...

I thought Teague went to Richmond SHT?

Oooh that's why your logic doesn't make much sense - it's group think.

Actually, the group think going on is mostly that almost every decision made by our club is great and seemingly not allowed to be tested. Then there are those who are essentially in here bullying and talking down to a poster for their thoughts which are "wrong".

Sure, the Bostonian is clearly livid and not everything they are saying needs to be agreed with and rightfully can be tested back, but some of the replies and put downs.... jeez. That's the real group think in action.

That's the most Harker-like thing you've said yet. Good to see you back.

I've responded to him on my own terms with my own logic. Challenged his logic you can see the rest. If you wish to white knight I suggest you pick someone else.

I'm not livid dude.

I just have no idea what the heck Voss does beside make good friends apparently.

Context isn't something you understand. I'll keep that in mind.

My choice was Pyke or Lyon.

There's plenty of posts there stating that when the discussion was at hand for a new coach.

Pyke didn't want to move.
Lyon didn't want the gig.

What's your grand plan after that? If those 2 aren't available we just forfeit 2022 or go coachless?

I'm not bullying anybody ... I just reckon we should probably back our coach in ... but that is too much to ask for it seems. Its his first day, and the off season, yet the knives are still being sharpened ...

Makes you really wonder.

Senior assistant of a team going #2 and #1 on the ladder in recent years?

Coaching the midfield of that team who are performing incredible include one winning a brownlow?

Demonstrating culture building by being there for 9 years when the industry regularly churns and burns assistants if they're not considered good enough?

What else would you like?

Well I like a good tactician who has a reputation for being all over a game plan.

I'd have been fine with Kingsley, at least he seems to have a reputation for being more than capable in that department, so much so that seems to be widely known to people not even that versed in him that that's what he brings to the table.

Have we not been burdened with enough rudderless football lately?

How do you know Kingsley is a good tactician? Google?
