How do you know Kingsley is a good tactician? Google?

Not even .. pure speculation .. re-read his post again ..

"at least he seems to have a reputation for being more than capable in that department"

Well I like a good tactician who has a reputation for being all over a game plan.

I'd have been fine with Kingsley, at least he seems to have a reputation for being more than capable in that department, so much so that seems to be widely known to people not even that versed in him that that's what he brings to the table.

Have we not been burdened with enough rudderless football lately?
I'm similarly skeptical of Voss, but think we reserve judgement until we see the whole coaching panel. At the end of the day, the decision is made and there's nothing we can do but wait for results.

The one major benefit to taking Voss is that we don't have to pay as much for head coach, which gives us more to spend on surrounding him with a quality team of supports. Lets wait to see the whole team before we judge too harshly.

Senior assistant of a team going #2 and #1 on the ladder in recent years?

Coaching the midfield of that team who are performing incredible include one winning a brownlow?

Demonstrating culture building by being there for 9 years when the industry regularly churns and burns assistants if they're not considered good enough?

What else would you like?

You know who he sounds like.

Brendan Bolton.

Thus I hope you understand many fans have concerns.

I believe his info is right. The best tactically of the lot but not the all round package.

Historically, we've gone too far on both ends, tactical v man managers and I hope Voss and his team can excel at both.

Well WTF didn't we just hire Stringer then!?!?!?!

Kingsley never coaching his own side, not even at junior or VFL level was my primary concern. Tactics are no good if you can't form relationships with the players, earn their respect, nor know how to handle a squad.

Starting to think it was Voss himself who kicked his puppy....

Yeah well I snuck over and pissed in his cornflakes .. that's what teamwork and relationship building is all about you know ;)

Actually, the group think going on is mostly that almost every decision made by our club is great and seemingly not allowed to be tested. Then there are those who are essentially in here bullying and talking down to a poster for their thoughts which are "wrong".

Sure, the Bostonian is clearly livid and not everything they are saying needs to be agreed with and rightfully can be tested back, but some of the replies and put downs.... jeez. That's the real group think in action.
this crap took longer than I expected - pompous poster spreads negative muck all over the place, gets met with general resistance by more than one other - cries of "bullying" and "group think" - it's as predictable as bostonian's first autopsy effort in march "nothing's changed, same old losing mentality etc etc"

I'm not livid dude.

I just have no idea what the heck Voss does beside make good friends apparently.
which part of "no-one does yet" are you struggling with?

And yet instead of musing on whether Kingsley had shortcomings that were highlighted during the interview process, the assumption is that "Tactics guy should get job".

The balance of the coaching group is going to be much more important than any individual accolades or accomplishments.

Voss ticks a lot of boxes, so hopefully we can get the right mix of people working alongside him to ensure that his focus on leadership, accountability and high performance is paired with a sustainable gameplan and improved execution of basic skills.

The very best part of the presser with Voss for me was when he talked about the narrative “we need to have a greater purpose” when talking about the team performance.

You can see Dogs,Tigers,Demons are connected. There is such a stark difference when watching Carlton play, we don’t play like a team that has a greater purpose for each other. The aim to simply kick more goals is not enough, you need to share something that makes you run and shepard and tackle and smother.. etc.. for each other, for the greater good.

I'm pleased with the appointment of not Lyon, and it's clear that we trolled him a bit so the panel met their brief.

Admittedly, I was caught up in the romance of Clarkson but I thought it was clear from 360 that his wife said no and he was a little disappointed but accepted she was probably right.

Wishing our new coach well in 2022 and looking forward to meeting the full team.
