That goes against everything cook does... he gives coaches a lot longer in the seat. What sort of culture do you breed from just ousting everyone after a year that's the garbage we want to change.

I think Ollie Wines endorsement of Voss would be a positive note that Cerra would take onboard. Cook will probably get in Cerra’s ear as well.

I think the assistants will be extremely important other than Luke power and one or two others our assistant coaches fora very long time have been very amateur.

My biggest takeway or ‘learnings’ cringe I really hope that disappears from the footy world lexicon soon re: Voss after listening to his interviews is that he understands the role of the modern day coach.
he spoke a lot about his role as coach to form deep bonds with the players under his charge. Not so they love him, but so he knows how best to motivate them and for some on our list hopefully unlock the door to their potential. This deep commitment to each player, finding out what makes them tick, will have a two fold effect. He can help them grow as players and people. The people part is important for team buy in. Team defence was a word he used once.
secondly he identified the need to have the right people around him. This obviously is crucial and was amongst other things imo Teague’s greatest failure. Voss seems aware that he cannot do everything nor is he the best at everything. If he can recognise his strengths and also his weaknesses, then build his assistants around that, and then listen and act accordingly. Then we will have a very good coaching department.
All of this flows onto to one of the last thing he touched on which is club culture. That’s Brian Cooks MO and I can see that at least with Vossy’s words that a deep and personal connection to the players, to build confidence and growth to drive standards, and ultimately to play for one another. With a strong determined and diverse team of coaches to apply an exciting and uncompromising brand of footy will with Cook guidance and sayers management acumen create the ‘culture’ of success that ultimately wins premierships in the modern era. Something Old Carlton haven’t as of now been able to adapt to. Exciting times ahead indeed

I think Voss will get into Cerra’s ears. He said as much on SEN, that he would speak to the players were looking to bring in.
