I dont get it. he must be a dud. Darling will be 30yo next year, Kennedy 35! Sure they have Oscar Allen, but they need to replace Darling and Kennedy. Something doesnt smell right

Isn't big enough to be a Darling replacement at the moment, that much is obvious. Plus, it's one thing to want to be able to replace Darling and JK from a club POV, but Brander might not want to wait around for another 2 years or more waiting for Darling to retire, especially when he clearly has Allen in front of him.

If he's hell bent on being played as a forward, I would expect there to be limited interest from us. If we like him, I think it would be with an eye on playing/developing him as a key defender who has the ability to be a swingman if injuries strike.

WC thought enough of him to mould him into a wingman just to play him, I think the talent is there. The athleticism certainly is. It's just that they are absolutely full to the brim with talented key position players.

But that's the whole point, they aren't gone and I speculated that Brander may not want to wait those years.

Barass, Cole and Rotham look to be their key defense going forward. Edwards has had games too and looked ok. Allen can swing both ends very well but long term looks like their forward. Darling is only 30 and who knows how long he'll play. Waterman is a very good young forward too.

They may even look to add to their key defender pool or use Allen there for a few years and see.

They are stacked.

Cole plays a similar role to Plowman. I've seen both of them take on 2nd talls just as they play on smaller types too.

Re Brander, there's a poster on the drafts, trades board that seems fairly adamant (not the singer) that he's going to the Hawks.
No idea if he gets inside info, or something was said on the Hawks board. Things can always change though, as I believe Tom Morris said he was meeting with us today, so who knows?
