You say this as if the AFL isnt choreographed and manipulated by those running the joint.
I'm surprised!
Most/all clubs supporters whine and moan about how inconsistent and staged the league is run so it's not just a Carlton thing.
But, to try and shame someone for seeing the inconsistency through blue coloured glasses is a bit wrong.
We all love this club whether the comp is run by a sycophantic boys club or not.

some serious over-reactions here........

It doesn't matter who Toby plays for he's done so much stupid shiton field that they could not hide it so had to be punished .
If you don't think the CorruptAFL doesn't have teams that they want to succeed then that's your right to an opinion but history suggests they have been more than kind to the teams North of the border.
COLA,Ambassadors in the state getting paid by the AFL,academies where they can hide players and pick them up for SFA the list goes on and on.
no it doesn't......

Many of the boys are still training at the club due to lockdown. They haven't been able to get away. That may change later when travel is more accessible.

I've personally seen around half a dozen of them running around Princes Park at various times in the last few weeks. Also know that some are continuing to use the clubs gym and recovery facilities.
They looking in reasonable shape? Keep a close eye on em

People continue to talk about ambassadorships like it's just something the AFL has established to help their 'favorites' . What a load of nonsense. Each of the people that are chosen for the ambassadorships does a lot of good work in different communities promoting the AFL.

I couldn't find this years list but I did find 2020.

2020 AFL MULTICULTURAL AMBASSADORS
AFL/ AFLW players:

Aliir Aliir (Sydney Swans), Akec Chuot (Richmond), Bachar Houli (Richmond), Darcy Vescio (Carlton), Dyson Heppell (Essendon), Haneen Zreika (GWS Giants), Lin Jong (Western Bulldogs), Marty Frederick (Port Adelaide), Nic Naitanui (West Coast Eagles), Stephen Coniglio (GWS Giants), Touk Miller (Gold Coast Suns)

State League players:
Bior Malual (Werribee, VFL), Goy Lok (Sandringham, VFL)

Community Football players:
Angela Roan (Melbourne University, VAFA), Michael Tang (Wallan, Riddell District Football League), Brad Xavier (Keilor, Essendon District Football League), Tom Jok (St Kevin's, VAFA)

Victorian Wheelchair Football League:
Judeland Antony (St Kilda)

Victorian Blind Football League:
Ned Brewer- Maiga (Hawthorn)

As far as there is a 'bias' north of the border that is just not factual.

Of the AFL Players who have an ambassadors role, 1 is from Qld, 3 from NSW, 5 from Vic, 1 from SA, and 1 from WA.

Even with Coniglio, the claim that he was given an ambassadorship to stop him from coming to Carlton is a total falsehood as well. He was already performing that role for a number of years beforehand.

Things like COLA etc were necessary to compensate for a higher cost of living and to help with the retention of players, which is an issue for the clubs in non-football states. The Sydney Swans rorted the system and rightfully lost that allowance.

If you want to have a national competition then you're going to have to cop teams in the non-football states being assisted to have any chance to be competitive.

The claims of anti-Victorian and Anti-Carlton agendas by the AFL are a complete nonsense.

I think there is an issue which keeps getting pushed into the background as nobody wants to be the one to deal with it. There are too many teams in Victoria for the AFL to be considered a truly workable national competition, ostensibly we are still an expanded VFL.

As a club we need to get over this victim mentality! The salary cap saga happened more than 20 years ago and Carlton have done more self inflicted damage to itself since, than the punishment handed to us by the AFL. The Carlton of the 00’s have shown they did not have strong leadership to get us back on course. Let’s hope this is rectified now and we can see Carlton back where it belongs, but this won’t happen until the club as a whole moves on and stops the victim mentality. I hope the club sees its future in its own hands. If it sees something that it doesn’t agree with, stand up and be heard. (Ie. our academy zone seems small compared to other clubs). Strong clubs such as Hawthorn, Collingwood, Geelong do this. Chris Judd coming in with part of his salary being transferred to being a Visy ambassador shows that the AFL doesn’t “hate” us, but generally the club has been real poor at putting forth it’s case.

Really.....what a silly point of view. And tell me what 'they' would have done to break us if we hadn't broken the rules.
The whole notion of them against us is a myth.
And don't use the argument everyone else was doing it.
The AFL wanted to make a statement, Carlton were the only club that at that time could survive the penalty that was issued. AD wanted to make a name for himself and accelerated the investigation into CFC which initially was planned to be finalised after the draft. None of my comments were about any anti Carlton agenda. Carlton were doing the wrong thing at the wrong time and being a strong club suffered like no one before or since in an environment where the AFL and AD capitalised on the circumstances to their own ends.

This board and this site is not the club. Our victim mentality doesn't extend within the walls of Princes Park.

Your memory of it is better than mine. I was 11-12. I can remember how passionate about football my father was before it, and the fire had gone out after it. I can remember the amount of kids who suddenly declined to admit they were Carlton fans, after watching me getting booed by adults.

People bemoan from time to time here the loss of old Carlton from a wins/losses perspective. I think we lost something then, something ineffable. I remember it feeling different when I was younger to the Carlton we are now.

There has been a generation lost in my family, with the next gen down not having any interest in Carlton, whereas 79-81-82 sealed the deal for me as a kid.

It's definitely not the same club I grew up with. Carlton were kings by the 90's. Most flags. Respected and hated for their success. Never won a spoon. A list of greats.

I'm a hopeless romantic about Carlton Thy, that's why.
same - but if someone could prove to me corruption in the game (not inherent rule changing, compromises, concessions & leg-ups for new clubs, human errors or "perceived bias" against my club) I'd walk away tomorrow.........

How many times do we see it and it doesn't happen?

We lost 3 players that day all due to impact hits.

You have impact hits every game. You don't get a multitude of injuries every game. Which game did it happen in? That's right, the game we played against a team juiced to the gills. It's not a coincidence just like that team's run of soft tissue injuries wasn't either.
I was there that day and it was obvious, boys versus 'men'.

History will also tell you that Ratten had already been invited to join the program, as one of the doctors involved with the cheats was a Carlton man, and got in contact with us. On the Monday after that game Ratts arranged a meeting to find out more, and to his credit left it saying no way.

Someone should set up a legitimate thread where we can discuss these things, because I for one am CERTAIN that the AFL's treatment of the Carlton football club is inconsistent with its treatment of other football clubs.
What you, and supporters of basically every club see and feel, is simply a result of a less than perfect ruling body. Its that simple.

A big study of emergency departments around many hospitals showed a proportion of nurses and Dr's believe the 'full moon, more crazies out' and hence a busier ED. What the study showed was that the moon cycle had absolutely 0 correlation with the number of ED visits. Confirmation bias whatever its called.

Imagine being a Newcastle utd supporter atm. Good friend who's supported them for 30 years is trying to make a very tough decision. Anyway, point is. It's hard to walk away from that connection sometimes.
