I have never questioned his leadership. My post about a dozen pages back was my opinion that we should have traded Gibbs, Murphy, Kruezer and Simpson before the 2015 draft. Thats where the rebuild should have started IMO. I have had no part in the Murphy bashing in the previous dozen pages slamming him or his leadership.

So we gut the club completely of valuable veteran players?

Melbourne did that and they spent the better part of a decade collecting high picks and forfeited the development or lost players outright who would have been better served developing in a team with at least some veteran support.

You'd put us 3-4 years behind where we are now.

They started this in 2009. Petracca wasn't drafted until 2014 (effectively 2015-2020). Your star premiership player would have been in his second year this year.

Instead of building the core group we've got now you'd still be stuck in pick and hope mode.

The problem with Carlton wasn't a dearth of high draft picks. It was in lacking the right coaching staff to develop them.

That's the intended use but I don't think that's been the implementation. Anyway that's not for this thread.

Regardless, it's a public forum, expecting abject positivity isn't going to happen, people are going to express opinions others don't agree with. The whole point of a forum is to have discussions and you'll find most of the time in cases like today with Murphy the minority are being unfairly critical and the majority call them out.

The general chit chat licence in this thread only exists when it's harmless and not taking up pages of debate.

It's not a rumour so all Murphy discussion can cease in here. Nobody is going to needlessly suffer from their inability to diminish or enhance Murphy's position at the club.

He is no longer in a position to hurt or help our on field position. You'd think the least we could do is be respectful and only comment on facts, rather than speculative opinions.

Again, this is a Carlton's supporters forum, not a Carlton detractors forum.
