Blues player dealing drugs

This doesn't even make a ripple in the current AFL climate. Up until recently I was going 'oh no, this is terrible for the club', now with previous drug testing, rape claims, salary cap issue, conflicts of interest, theft, public indecency, assault and a whole range of other issues at both the Blues and pretty much all of the AFL, it's becoming almost funny in a laugh to stop from crying kind of way.

Let's see who can trump who in the media this week. Wrong time to reveal this one as Jacobs and the Hawaiian Hawks have the week all booked up.

Hard to believe that Frawley, Richmond's form and a spitting fan was the best effort last week. Lift your game Tigers!

Is this the AFL apocalypse? All these signs are presenting themselves everywhere.;)

I think Ian Collins said he had no comment but it "is not Laurence Angwin". Unfortunately my train was entering the loop at the time so I didn't catch it clearly but I think that's what was said.

I cant remember whether it was in The Australian or The Age but I read that the alledged drug dealer was not Angwin, and that the allegation was seperate to the Angwin/Norman incident.

More a situation of too much media not enough news I suspect. Apparantly there are more jounalists registered with the AFL than players.

Unruly spectators sure wasn't big news when I started following footy, neither was a bit of partying or drink driving by a player. These days the media, and bigfooty for that matter, makes it sound like it's the end of the club.

... and he is best mates with angwin and norman.

The best thing for carlton is to have him and laurie gone!!

Cameron Croad. He has been given the sack therefore an ex-player.

Do any of you morons (and I include you in this too leonmagic) engage brain before putting fingers into gear? Or do you just think jumping to ill-founded conclusions and slandering someone is ethical?

Cameron Croad is still on the playing list, and is NOT yet an ex player, something Caroline Wilson who broke the stroy is aware of.

There are no indications in the article who the ex-player may be, or how long ago he left the Club.

And Cameron Croad has not been given the sack, he has indicated he thinks he will retire and has been given time off to consider his future.

What future - the guy couldn't even get into Carltons side when you were going terribly. This guy has no footballing future. This is all mickey mouse stuff with him, at season end he will be delisted.

And? Croad couldn't even get a half of football a week with Preston. He is crap. Surely the blues could delist him now and promote seat 20 row A of the Heatly Stand. That guy has had more possesions than Croad.

I am surprised that the name posted on this thread is still there.

I'm with Headplant, it's a false assumption.

When I first read this story, it appeared that it might be fallout from recent events - wouldn't be the first time people caught using drugs would "dob" in a dealer. It may very well be that the ex-player being investigated was initiated because of this, but that would imply he still is involved around the club.

There was an ex-Carlton great that left under Collins' previous reign that had a very public fall from grace (in another state) due to a real drug problem. From my understanding, he wasn't alone and didn't find the drugs hard to come by. Maybe this story is a legacy of player from this era?

I cannot believe some people can just name players by sheer assumption and without any real knowledge what so ever. I seem to remember everyone taking the higher road, as they should to, with the "sexual assault" & "collingwood rumours", etc threads, yet this is just let allowed.
Have a good look at yourselves, this is a criminal act and as far was we hear is in police hands, therefore naming players on "assumptions" or "innuendo" is just plain STUPID.

And?

The bloke’s not overly talented. We know that! What's your point?
