Let's look at what the review should be looking at. Given I feel Rutten is safe.

It starts with the strength and conditioning staff, medical staff and training loads.

Given the amount of soft tissue injuries and the reoccurance of the same injuries has to be questioned.

In terms of club culture, do we need pokies? Should we be looking at becoming more of community club?

If it were my role, id be looking first at the club wide culture and starting a roots up rebuild of the place.

Gotta work out what gets everyone there to love the joint and rocking up. And not because of some notion of privilege to don the sash.

That's gonna start with leadership in all aspects of the club.

Next has to be accountability and honesty. It should be a welcoming enough environment for concerns to be raised, heard and addressed.

Get the place functioning as an enterprise, then start assessing the factors around performance

Coaching, medical, fitness, development, recruitment.

Ive seen this turn around from similarly worse within an organisation and it took one leader at the very top to set the example and the expectation.

He could have been honest and saved us the miscalculation of his input and saved Rutten the annoyance that he so pointed out.

How many times in the last "say" 6 years have supporters wanted the club to publicly complain or appeal about an AFL decision, for example poor umpiring/ over strong suspension/ unequal draw/ requests denied. It never happens, we just kowtow to the bosses. I suspect Xavier Campbell is the one who pulls the strings to make us so limp. The first coach or Manager to have a crack at the AFL gets my vote. Leadership.

But no, it'd be borderline sadistic and unprecedented for the club to hold him to his contract after undermining him so drastically.
