Is this potential spill coterie driven? Possibly a rhetorical question but thought I'd ask.

If so, I'd love for those bastards to swallow their ego for 12 - 18 months and let the football club be a football club without their meddling. See what happens, as we've sure as shit seen what happens with their ego driven wheelings and dealings influencing decision making.

How much experience do they have in running a successful football club in the modern era? I'd like to guess 7 eighths of **** all, so let the club set a clear course without trying to put the kybosh on any decision of note and see if it bears any fruit. It might actually make better use of their very generous donations than instead spending considerable coin fixing up **** up after **** up that has come about due to their misguided input.

My guess is that a lot of these high wealth coterie members are just as much football nuffs as anyone on Blitz, but have the money and ego to think and demand things of the club.

they are just nuffies with more money owen87

Old nuffies too. Who think Sheedy is still relevant because they're all the same age as him and think they're still relevant.

I imagine there's a lot of "man up!" and "kick it long!" comments mid-game at the Essendonian's functions.

Also, for what it is worth, the Essendonian coterie is fantastic for people who want more of an upmarket experience. This can be enjoyed without needing to overthrow board members.

They aren’t all egotistical wannabe board members with visions of grandeur.

And seemingly less idea of what the actual problems are than regular nuffs.

They’re too close to it, become myopic and attached to individuals.
Probably best not to confuse class issues with the operation of the football club methinks.

Is this almost telling on how the board/club has been run for years. More focused on money than long term success, is Muir has been pushing for it behind the scenes but only now its starting to happen, but something I think has clearly been needed for years.

The piles of cash at headquarters would be an bit of an environmental issue if they went up in flames I think.

$9,500 annual membership fee for the Essendonians, plus other fundraising.
I looked around at other coterie groups for a giggle and what the Essendonians charge for a membership is far above what any of the other clubs are asking for. Found that interesting

Most clubs would have an ultra-high tier of membership, from memory that's a small coterie above the Essendonians called The Coleman Club that's not advertised anywhere.

Their core mission is supposedly about fundraising for the club so they’re deliberately very expensive and get a good amount of access to players and club staff as a result.

Pretty sure that’s where the money comes from to buy TVSC out of the naming rights on the Hangar, for example (which Andrew Muir takes credit for). Also the line item in the annual report for donations, which miraculously offsets most of the debts each year. 🫠

The other two are more affordable but the Collins Street mob is invitation only, so it’s still exclusive in its own way. Women’s Network is the third one.

People really do go to great lengths to try and make themselves feel special don't they...

I bleed red and black harder than you!
