I looked around at other coterie groups for a giggle and what the Essendonians charge for a membership is far above what any of the other clubs are asking for. Found that interestingThe piles of cash at headquarters would be an bit of an environmental issue if they went up in flames I think.
$9,500 annual membership fee for the Essendonians, plus other fundraising.

Their core mission is supposedly about fundraising for the club so they’re deliberately very expensive and get a good amount of access to players and club staff as a result.I looked around at other coterie groups for a giggle and what the Essendonians charge for a membership is far above what any of the other clubs are asking for. Most clubs would have an ultra-high tier of membership, from memory that's a small coterie above the Essendonians called The Coleman Club that's not advertised anywhere.
People really do go to great lengths to try and make themselves feel special don't they...Their core mission is supposedly about fundraising for the club so they’re deliberately very expensive and get a good amount of access to players and club staff as a result.
Pretty sure that’s where the money comes from to buy TVSC out of the naming rights on the Hangar, for example (which Andrew Muir takes credit for). Also the line item in the annual report for donations, which miraculously offsets most of the debts each year.
The other two are more affordable but the Collins Street mob is invitation only, so it’s still exclusive in its own way. Women’s Network is the third one.

I bleed red and black harder than you!
$12,500 for 2 (Or $13,500 with GF tickets)Most clubs would have an ultra-high tier of membership, from memory that's a small coterie above the Essendonians called The Coleman Club that's not advertised anywhere.
We still have a coaches club. From memory it is about $14/ 15k.$12,500 for 2 (Or $13,500 with GF tickets)
We did have a coaches club which was $19,500
Gone up to $19,500 from the 2022 brochure with the CLub 1872 memberships. We still have a coaches club. From memory it is about $14/ 15k.
That is some serious coin.Gone up to $19,500 from the 2022 brochure with the CLub 1872 memberships.
They know which side the bread is buttered. Also why they can afford to treat supporters like dirt when they're not treating them like open cheque books.
It'd irk me more when/if we're thereabouts again.. easy decision these days at least. The $200 or $250 to secure a grand final ticket irks me. You don’t get it back if the club does not make the GF and you have to pay it before a certain date. It really is just a donation.
I reckon I paid for it the year we got rubbed out for doping. I think it was presented as an increasing amount that increased the longer you left it and had to be paid by a certain cut-off date well before the end of the year. It'd irk me more when/if we're thereabouts again.. easy decision these days at least.
Club should've refunded everyone who paid it.I reckon I paid for it the year we got rubbed out for doping
Purple Bombers?
It's from the 2009 annual report, I think they were formed after?Purple Bombers?
And just how much of it is for a status symbol, My seats at the G are a bay away from the presidents lunch seats (so much so security once came and said I wasn't supposed to be sitting there, showed my membership they moved on quickly, its a High Mark membership but just shows the markup for wel. That is some serious coin.
The 1872 membership is not cheap either.
Donation for the last 20 years! The $200 or $250 to secure a grand final ticket irks me. You don’t get it back if the club does not make the GF and you have to pay it before a certain date. It really is just a donation.
It was $50 only four seasons ago and jumped to $80-something to $120 to $150 and now $200. Disgraceful. The $200 or $250 to secure a grand final ticket irks me. You don’t get it back if the club does not make the GF and you have to pay it before a certain date. It really is just a donation.
