When we got him, l was fuming said we paid overs. After his first few games started to think that we have our own Cyril Rioli doesn't need many possessions to kick multiple goals.

How wrong was l. Future second was a bargain. Haven't had such a dangerous small forward since Didak.

Fast becoming one of my favourites.

For a pick which will end up in the 40’s.

After sleeping on it I've figured out where I've had the feelings experienced about Bobby's game yesterday before, it was a while back when we were struggling up forward a bit and Elliott came back into the side giving off vibes that he was a class above and a step ahead of everyone else out on the ground.

Bobby was giving off those exact same vibes yesterday, looked a step ahead of everyone else and dangerous in everything he did, both offensively and defensively.

Two moments stand out in particular:

  • the way everyone else on the ground assumed he was going to kick the goal from the boundary and left Pendles unchecked (and Bobby being the only one recognising that)
  • the set up for the tackle on Starcevich which was perfect, didn't overcommit but got close enough to put some implied pressure on, waited for the inevitable fumble and then pounced with a brilliantly executed tackle on a much bigger player, including a key change of grip in a fraction of a second when Starcevich tried to get the ball onto his boot resulting in an incorrect disposal and subsequent free kick.
Just a brilliant all round game (and final series - 8 goals in 3 games where we only kicked 29 in total) from the young man on the biggest of stages and it's clear to see he has bought into the club 110% and the club has reciprocated in full.

Very happy for him and very happy for us that we brought him in.

Special shout out to pablo disco bar for wanting him on the list before anybody

Legendary performance by bobby !
From his first game I saw him play against the pies I wanted him

And he won us a flag off his own boot

Bobby Hill bobby Hill bobby Hill

Bobby Hill!!!!!

Coleman getting two votes is silly to me - he was shut down after half time. Hill missed a couple of shots after half time, but was still lively and impactful.

Brilliant coaching by us to let him get so many kicks making his foot too tired and sore to play well in the second half :)

Gee whiz Luke Darcy is an idiot.

Pendlebury was not the 3rd best player on the ground, not even close. Crisp or Mitchell
I think it's last quarter recency bias there, Pendles was huge after he kicked his goal late in the third.

But you're right, Mitchell and Crisp were absolutely ****ing enormous.

Mitchell was just cool as a cucumber with the footy. Used it really well making great decisions and hitting up targets all day. Slowed Neale right down too. His best game for the club I think.

I actually think it was Titch's best game ever full stop - even better than his 50 disposal game. He sure picked a good time to hit peak performance.
