I must say that when I thought of an indigenous player lighting up the G on Grand Final day, my first thought wasn’t Bobby.
But he did!
And kudos to all at Collingwood who implemented the recommendations of the do better report that ended up with Hill deciding that Collingwood was now a safe environment for him and his family. He said as much post GF win.
From his overcoming his illness, to BOG in a premiership at a club that not so long ago was on the nose for indigenous players, this is the feel good story of 2023.

Of course I loved his offensive weapons being on fully display yesterday. But I wanted to call out his determination in attempting (and succeeding) to make chase down tackles. It was such an awesome part of his game. Of course this was also particularly prominent in the first quarter of the Melbourne game.

Could he be a contender for our best Finals player award?

He was Cyril. Stuff the Shai bolton comparisons. This kid's got Cyril's pace, skill and work and team ethic.

Mitchell was just cool as a cucumber with the footy. Used it really well making great decisions and hitting up targets all day. Slowed Neale right down too. His best game for the club I think.
Possibly his best, but without doubt his most important.

Cyril was something else but id say Bobby has way better footskills and works harder up the ground by far. What an absolute steal he's turned into. The confident arrogance he'll gain from Saturday will be our benefit for the next 10 years.

Congratulations to all those on this board who had so much confidence in Bobby - must admit that when we recruited him I thought he would be a bit part player - just goes to show how little I know.

I must admit I was much the same as you I did not know much about him and I thought we have Ginni and Beau already but he is proving to be a fantastic piece of recruiting. He could play wing or out side mid easily and kick a couple a week plus he flies for his marks I thought he was going to be a b grade player but saturday showed us he is top drawer A+ player.

Because of his confidence in himself and his goal kicking we won the match,if that match becomes his standard we will have a top 5 level player in the competition for the next 10 yrs I am very excited by what he can bring to us.

Having watched him play for GWS I also thought he was an average player but now he's A BLOODY STAR

He was the recruit I was most excited about this year. If you looked at his playing record it was definitely following the path good players do once you considered the cancer time out. He has shown that this year but Saturday was one out of the box. It was extraordinarily good. So many highlights but "the tackle" was perhaps the most defining thing.

Thye confidence he has after this will push him higher next year. reckon he is possibly on the path of Bolton, Cameron etc now. The speed, the skills and the strength being way beyond his size are the qualities that set these elite small forwards apart and like Bolton I reckon Bobby can look at a mix of forward and mid in his future. What a gem

Was ambivalent about recruiting him. Always expected he’d eventually be a good player over time, just wasn’t sure how he’d rebound from his cancer. Had my full support once the deal was done, but he’s far exceeded my expectations for 2023. Scary to think he’s still far from the finished product.

Agreed - think he & McCreery are both only just scratching the surface of their potential. Those two have a terrific combination of skill and athleticism

Career high disposals (18) and goals (4) in a Grand Final. Amazing effort. Still only 23, should give him great confidence coming into next season and taking his game to another level.
Also took what, 5 or so marks I50? That would be a great effort for a KPF, let alone a 179cm small
