Recommitted Bobby Hill [requested trade to Essendon but will be held to his contract]

Tough spot for Bobby, he wants be in Victoria to support his family. Won’t surprise me if he sits out of footy for a year and there are no winners from this…
If he really wanted to return to Vic to support his family, he wouldn't have told GWS at the 11th hour when he had been in discussions with Essendon for a month, and also would be open to returning to any Vic club. From what was reported in here, his missus is due in December, its not like it was only last week that he suddenly realised he was going to be having a kid.

Pretty much a balls-up by all of Essendon, Young and Hill. A terrible concocted plan.

Jason McCartney comes out of it well by humouring them at best, and then ignoring.

Damian Barrett: Welcome back to Continental Tyres Trade Radio Deadline Day, Continental get you where you want to go. We'll now go to Callum Twomey, brought to you by Rheem Hot Water, it comes on steady, hot and strong. What have you got for us Cal?

Twomey: Well Damian let's have a look at the Arc, brought to you by Continental Tyres they'll get you where you want to go, and RMIT take charge of what's next, and as you can see there's f*ck all going on. Back to you Damian.

Barrett: Thanks Cal. Let's have a look at the Toyota Tracker brought to you by Toyota Oh What A Feeling and Toyota's Good For Football Program, and as we can see there's f*ck all going on there too. Let's check in with Brendon Goddard brought to you by Bunnings where it's just the beginning. What are your thoughts BJ?

Goddard: I don't know why I'm here.

Barrett: Thanks BJ, time to have another look at the Arc, brought to you by Continental Tyres they'll get you where you want to go, and RMIT take charge of what's next, and as you can see there's a ground breaking trade between three fringe ruckman and a swap of 4ths. That'll sure shake up the Toyota Tracker brought to you by Toyota Oh What A Feeling and Toyota's Good For Football Program.

Yeah, ok champion - that checks out. We've got absolutely no evidence to establish the fact that Essendon solicited this but you're just going to say we're responsible for screwing it up because... you're a Carlton fan and everything needs to revolve around the Bombers being the villain or the incompetent party.

Just contract game playing, either agrees to Pies if his claims are genuine or he is back at GWS next year. Colin Youngs history doesnt help.

Geelong now has 50 and future 3rd for Ceglar. So what, future 3rd for Ceglar, Hawks passes Brisbane's future 3rd onto us for Lynch?

That's a breakeven trade, if we receive any less then omg Wright has been underwhelming with every trade this year

Think you find Essendon also found out at the 11th hour when Hill himself reached out to them. This is confirmed by his manager.

GWS isn't trading him to any team, not Collingwood or Essendon or anyone else. They want to keep him because they can't replace him.

McCartney has told us this and it's stickied to the top of this thread.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Essendon have normally been pretty good with paying fair value for players coming in right? It's really only been for outgoing players that they are tough to deal with. Seems like their offer has been reasonable again and GWS needing a ready to go replacement is the issue here.
Can't blame Essendon for this, it is all on Hill and his manager.

Don't really blame Hill for trying either, given his circumstances he seems pretty desperate.

Nor should we blame GWS for needing a player that sprung a trade request at the last minute after seemingly wanting to re-sign with a year to run on his contract only 6 weeks ago.

Yeah right!!! Bobby Hill had the Victorian clubs listed on a dartboard, he closed his eyes and the dart landed on Essendon. And Bobby Hill borrowed the dartboard from Josh Dunkley.

Disappointing but happy to keep the pick and hopefully use it to get into this years draft. I hope we stay in Hill’s ear though and we can get him for nothing next year if he still is interested

Yep. Just really poor from his management to stuff this up.

You left out all the breaks for the ads... Seriously.

I've tried to listen at times, especially when Cerra was looking close but the sheer amount of ads and always the exact same ones was unbearable.
