I'm nowhere near maxing either of my two characters yet.

Level 33 Commando & level 16 or so Assassin.

Mechromancer looks like it would've been a great first playthrough option, I'll get it later on.

Have they stated how many characters they'll be putting out?

Apparently the Mechromancer DLC/Patch is causing a few issues with people's saves. Some reporting their Badass ranks being reset and losing the Golden/Skeleton Keys. Might be worth backing up your saves if you don't want any issue.

On the Mechromancer, after watching some gameplay of the class I'm pretty disappointed at it's lack of real firepower.

I was expecting the Mech to basically be a mobile version of the Commando's Turret, so basically a more effective version of that class. But the skill tree perks and just overall look of effectiveness from the Mech kind of lead me to not wanting to touch the Mechromancer class. I also don't really like this 'Anarchy' thing they're going for with the class and how most of the Skill Tree perks surround how much you have stacked at the time.

There's also nothing much on the skill tree that really screams 'HOLY SHIT' like in the other classes. I mean one of the hardest to reach perks in the Mechromancer class is 'every 9th bullet can ricochet into an enemy'...wow. With the Commando you can get a friggen MINI NUKE for your Turret! A MINI NUKE!!!

i've just played up to sanctuary with the mech and i really like her. only level 9 but the anarchy skill seems ridiculously good for how easy it is to stack, even without any of the complementary skills.

haven't played axton so i can't compare it to the turret but the deathtrap can handle itself alright and with its skill tree it looks like it can become pretty powerful.

I'd expect this to be it, otherwise not only are they cutting in on potential sequel characters (that would get more time) but they'll be spending their dev time now on DLC packs featuring story content to go in with the Season Pass that they have out which states 5 DLC packs (but no idea if that will feature the 'Creature Slaughter' mode that was given with the pre-order - which by the way wouldn't have been worth getting anyway as it's just a slight variation on the 2 Slaughter Modes already available, only this time it features 'Creatures' like Skagg's and such).

i still wanna know if grandblue picked this up.

i reckon that 10 dollar horde mode dlc from borderlands 1 was def a solid reason not to purchase one of the best games this gen in borderlands 2.................

Yeah that sounds about right. I genuinely wasn't expecting to pick this game up, I don't normally do the online co-op stuff but it's pricepoint + mates recommendations completely sold me into it.

I'm glad I did, it's one of the deepest games I've seen this gen. I'll be playing this for a long time yet. Will probably be the first time I pick up a DLC season pass or whatever as well.

Post-Mechromancer Pack patch has revealed the first real DLC's name.

'Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty'.

3 Trophies available are: (Gold) 'Treasure Hunter - Completed the mission "X Marks the Spot"', (Bronze) Gadabout - 'Discovered all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate's Booty areas', (Silver) Completionist - 'Completed all Pirate's Booty side missions'.

New areas and side missions make me want it already. Looks like I'll be spending the $40 for the season pass.:(

I got it wrong before too stating 5 DLC packs, there will be 4 (so it's '4 for the price of 3' - which would mean that the DLC will be around $15 each standalone), all to be available before June next year.

If I buy the season pass do I get the Mechromancer with it. Or is this a stand alone thing separate from the pass?

Separate.

Season pass is $39.95 and will come with 4 DLC packs, hopefully all story based stuff.
Premiere Club (with Mechromancer class + Skeleton/Gold key + Gearbox guns which are terrible + Vault Hunter relic that gives 5% extra chance of rare loot drops that I've had equipped the whole time playing the game) is $15.95.

They're only any use for the first 5 minutes of the game, if that. I remember when i pre ordered to get the premier club edition, i read through what came with it, and i thought to myself OH SWEET, GEARBOX GUN PACK! WIN!

I should have realised that after all this time of getting sucked in to pre order something just because it comes with a shiny new exclusive weapon that you can only get from pre ordering, that it is never, EVER any good. lol

Used my 2nd Golden/Skeleton Key today after reaching level 40. Pretty damn happy with what I got, as follows.

Nassty Rokets!
Assault Rifle
Damage - 2961
Accuracy - 86.7
Fire Rate - 3.3
Reload Speed - 10.8
Magazine Size - 91
*Consumes 3 Ammo Per Shot

Akurate Rokgun
SMG
Damage - 1570
Accuracy - 91.1
Fire Rate - 7.7
Reload Speed - 3.5
Magazine Size - 60

Really happy with my inventory at the moment. I am getting a good batch of really solid weapons with elemental damage. Because it's early on I have the electric/fire snipers stocked up on and will go back to another solid corrosive later on when it gets to the robots, all Snipers are around 3k damage.

My fire sniper is one of the best looking guns I've seen in the game and just so happens to be my most powerful too, just looks so slick with awesome colours and a huge blade underneath (looks very similar to that awesome fire gun you had caMoGFC).

Not sure yet whether I will use my 3rd key at level 45 or wait to use both at level 50, but the way I'm going through the story (which is fairly slowly), I think I'll be using at 50. Just have to wait and see.

Really enjoying the 2nd playthrough as well, miles better than the first imo. Not only is the loot almost always awesome, but you really want to scour the area for every bit of it just to make sure you aren't missing out on anything awesome. The only real disappointment is that the Eridium guy back in Sanctuary has nothing more to offer me after I bought everything in the first playthrough, surely they could've thrown in more backpack and ammo increases?! (although I have a feeling it'll come in with the DLC)

Have to say that I've come around with this game. I'm really enjoying it now. Thanks to those who PM'd me and advised I stay with it. :)

still on level 19 game is infuriating...won't level up at all.
That's because you levelled up with us so fast before your time.

Now you're doing low level missions that aren't giving you much XP.

When you look at the missions you are to take, there's a level and difficulty rating to tell you how easy/hard/normal, etc. they are plus what level they are best for. If you want to level up, only do the one's that are closer to your level.

And you only get to around level 30-35 from one playthrough doing everything anyway, so you're not levelling up slowly.

Yeah I jumped on with mates at around that point then went back to doing the basic missions that I missed, had about a 5 hour period of gameplay where I levelled up once.

So glad they have the skip function for shit you've done on mates saves though.

Started TVH mode last night and got to skip right through to the mission where you meet Lillith

Not finding any real good loot though, all high damage but nothing elemental so I'm battling with my kit from first playthrough.

Going to do what HBK did and use my first key at level 40 (I'm currently 35), then 45 & 50.

what are these badass token things i had like 100 of them... guns seems to improve since i used them.
Go to your menu and hit r2 until you get to the badass menu, you then can redeem them to improve your sheild recharge, sheild capacity, gun accuracy etc...

Some impressions and videos here.

DLC is meant to be anywhere around 8 or so hours of Gameplay, which is a bargain for $10.

Most importantly, it scales the challenge to the level you enter at. So there is a challenge for all.
It definitely looks like a good chunk of game and a good addition to the Borderlands franchise.

Although I'm going to be waiting to see what they bring out next before jumping in, as I'd like to have an idea of what content you get for the Season Pass (as I'd get that instead of buying each individually and eventually spending more money) before getting that. So far it definitely looks like they're on the right path.

Will this be released on the Thursday for us? Only reason I ask is because whenever I actually want to get something off the Playstattion Store, it never seems to release on time (eg. Dungeon Defenders, Payday, NBA Jam:OFE)

Yes it will, Thursday around 2-3AM, guaranteed.:)

GiantBomb will have a Quick Look up at around 11pm tonight of the DLC, so I'm going to give that a watch and will post up here as well when it's up on Youtube.
