Brad complains about umpires... Brad was wrong... North apologises

so you were just trolling in your original post. Cool. :thumbsu:
How am I trolling when I am providing data?

My point is this. In each season certain teams are favoured. In certain situations certain players are favoured or maligned.

For the record I think Sydney generally cop the short end of umpiring but Buddy has finally been given a fair go. I believe Barry Hall should have been suspended and not played in the GF.

I also believe the Dogs are getting a dream run from umpires this year because they are playing a game style the AFL want. They AFL don't care if you duck, dive or throw it. They only care that it's a fast game. Hence the Dogs gameplan suiting their current umpiring agenda.

I believe that each side cops it and benefits over the journey but I will not waver in my belief that it's ridiculous that the AFL have an umpiring department that they influence each week through memorandum and that it is setup to have no accountability at all.

Do you know the AFL will not release umpiring stats by umpire. Why might that be?

Scott needs to get a big fine here. He's questioned three blokes integrity when they've done nothing wrong. Disgusting behaviour from from a bloke who can't help but blame others for his own teams short comings.

Notice how no one is talking about their captain missing in the last quarter now? Keep deflecting Brad, it's worked. Roof, umpires.. what's next?

Four field umpires during the split rounds.

Mission accomplished. :$:$:$:$:$
The Scott brothers are the biggest sooks running around and it's so entertaining seeing then lose.

Pretty basic look at frees for vs disposals.

Lycett(WC) 27FF 133D 20.3%
Sicily(HAW) 23FF 153D 15%
Hewett(SYD) 17FF 116D 14.7%
Christensen(BRI) 26FF 183D 14.2%
Martin(BRI) 24FF 181D 13.3%
Brown(NM) 18FF 142D 12.7%
Selwood(GEE) 41FF 335D 12.2%
Mclean(WB) 22FF 182D 12.1%
Macrae(WB) 21FF 177D 11.9%
Betts(ADE) 19FF 168D 11.3%
Baguley(ESS) 19FF 175D 10.9%
Kennedy(WC) 19FF 175D 10.9%
McGlynn(SYD) 13FF 119D 10.9%
Puopolo(HAW) 19FF 184D 10.3%
Petrie(NM) 15FF 145D 10.3%
Blair(COL) 21FF 207D 10.1%
Ward(GWS) 29FF 293D 9.9%
Shuey(WC) 29FF 299D 9.7%
Ziebell(NM) 29FF 299D 9.7%
Thomas(NM) 13FF 141D 9.2%

Lycett takes the cake with over 1 in 5 disposals coming from a free kick. Sicily almost 1 in 6. Thomas gets the most stick and imo anyone that plays for frees deserves it but there's worse offenders. Blight on the game.
Lycett wins a lot of ruck infringements, not high free kicks and tackles a lot, so wins heaps of HTB.

You claimed a conspiracy that favoured Sydney players.

Buddy in his early years at Hawthorn gave away plenty of frees and got little in return. That's never been disputed. If you want to look at say his last 5 years at Hawthorn V his 51 games at Sydney you might find he is receiving less or about the same amount of free kicks per game.

You used Hall as another example of a conspiracy and something that happened 11 years ago. The funny thing about a punch to the stomach is that 11 years later it is only a fine.

Has a Scott brother abused teenage umpires, old men or punched the shit out of walls ?
Nope, just the little arseh*le from the Dingley tip has done that.

Funny thing is McMillian doing this front of the Hawks goal cost you the game.

So I suppose the laugh is on you and North.
Bad kicking cost us the game, even if MacMillan miraculously got around 3 opponents in the back pocket, we weren't going coast to coast with 30 seconds to go.

I'm so tired of this debate focussing on the evading player.

FFS tackle lower.

Both of Scott Thompson's frees given to Sicily were lazy, particularly the last one, where his arm had already slid up and over the shoulder before Sicily had even begun lifting his wing.

This was yet another game with 100+ well laid legal tackles but everyone is talking about the 3-4 sloppy ones. Only difference is tough man dermie is conspicuously less aggressive in his attack on the perpetrators this week.

As far as LT goes, it's an absolute disgrace he's the poster boy for those in the dermie corner of this. Statistically miles behind so many others in the league for high frees, but has been placed front and centre because his histrionics make it easy for opposition supporters to dislike him from afar.

Have to agree it's a bad look, and when i saw the presser on fox 10 minutes ago i almost fell off the couch, defamation for sure, no wonder the club went into damage control, AFL are going to tan our backside.

Brad Scott better start reading up defamation laws before he does anything stupid again.

Very lucky that he isn't getting dragged to court (although he might be, hope not).

Don't worry, he can always use the defence that no reasonable person would ever take anything he said seriously.

Out of all the games anyone could pick when talking about biased umpiring, it had to be this one. There is biased umpiring in our game, but why this?

Simply embarrassing for North Melbourne.

Do North fans now understand why opposition supporters don't rate their club? With a pompous figurehead like Scott leading the charge?

Why is that people on BigFooty make such poor arguments? How are those two things related.

Mick Malthouse was a huge dickhead, but he still won flags. You're trying to relate two very unrelated things.

100% agree with all of that.

My motto - Who gives fat rats clacker what the umpires think before or after the game.

I'm old school in that umpires need to be respected by the players on the ground, umpires should call players by their numbers and their decisions are final. It ends there. Umpires are then selected on their performance. The free kick of the week has been a joke for many years. Just pay the free kicks.
