And Yze, he looks delighted.
Heāll hopefully be even more delighted with a good draft haul and less injuries next year

He has another couple years of grace.
Its all a predictable, glorious cycle:
Once those pesky finals are out of the way, attention can focus back on Essendon
- Firstly they will definitely win trade week. A big fish eg. Mckay will be landed at a bargain price, "North were absolutely fleeced by Adrian, hehehe"
- Secondly, Essendon will land a couple of flakely outside back flanker types, when they really need some big bodied grunt midfielders but nevertheless be declared as having a highly successful draft.
- Come January, their overrated one good game a month types will be declared burning up the track, think Stringrer, McGrath , Shiel
- come Februrary , their young hopefulls will get full page news articles about what fantastic futures they have, how we can expect a Hobbs break out season and Martin for All Australian
- April, May they ll have a postive win loss ratio and be in the the Eight, their fans will start puffing their chest out, bumping old threads where we were laughing at them and proudly declaring this seaon is different "suck shit Carlton, Hawks or North supporters"
-come July , Esendon will start getting flogged again and slip out of the eight back to their rightfull position around 10 -14. Essendon supporters will go quiet, and opposition supporters will bump the Dodoro thread and chortle.
- rinse and repeat

Iām enjoying putting two in a row on you, ( The Durham one especially sweet) about time we put a bit more distance on the h2h.Draper looks great.. so does Jagga Smith and Finn OāSullivan ā¦ looks like a very strong draft and we will be knee deep in it.
Enjoy mid table and all its spoils ..
good Point. Not a lot of flexibility with in game coaching either. The magnets never move.

He was basically known as Brad "No Plan B" Scottgood Point.
Was Brad Scott known for doing drastic changes when he was North Melbournes coach?
The Guardian has published a less prophetic but still worthwhile expansion on this theme here: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/b...-brad-scott-and-grinds-bombers-season-to-dustHe has another couple years of grace.

Bard was once quoted in reference to a question regarding having plan b, c etc..He was basically known as Brad "No Plan B" Scott
Based on the approach this off-season they are gearing towards a rebuild rather than chasing the sugar hit of a finals win by topping up with experience.I havent given up on him.
I actually think Brad Scott can get finals and win a final next season
I mean you could justify Brad Scott clogging the list with journey men and hacks from other clubs if the club makes and win finals. When he was at North Brad was more concerned for his favourite players (usually older journeymen) to be able to buy property and be financially set up for life - it took priority over winning. This was well known in North circles for the last couple of years of his tenure. Remember 2016? We started 9-0 and he came out and said only 12 wins was the goal. What message does that send to your players, when you say they only have to win 3 of their last 13 games? And sure enough, we won only 3 of the last 14 games.
I'm seeing the exact same pattern at Essendon. No club has had less debutants this year and he keeps playing a bunch of 26-30 year olds that may or may not jag a random finals appearance but no further, and are just going to leave them treading water and clog up the list in the long term, like he did with us.
He is who he is and he won't change now.

Again.... I look back at North Melbourne when they made finals in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
North Melbourne wasn't a top 4 club, they were not bottom 4 either.
They finished 5th to 8th for 3 years in a row.
North definitely overachieved in 2014. They won 2 finals vs Essendon in the MCG and cats in the MCG that season.
They overachieved in 2015 as well. Beating Richmond in the MCG and Swans in NSW.
I don't care what anyone says, North Melbourne finals run of 2014 and 2015 and 2016 was very good.
Even if 2014 and 2015 both ended up as Elim final wins in week one and a semi final exit the next week, at least they won finals.
Based on the approach this off-season they are gearing towards a rebuild rather than chasing the sugar hit of a finals win by topping up with experience.
A little unfair to call McGrath, Langford, McKay and Stringer garbage.Jock McHale couldn't do anything with this absolutely garbage list.
