And yes, Port Adelaide has been a big family club for years. With the Williams', Ebert's, Burgoyne's, Cornes' (excluding Graham), Tredrea's, Westhoff's (although Matthew has been delisted), Motlop's (now both are gone). I've probably forgotten another family or two lol

So you're saying Port Adelaide are the only club to have family members play for them? More so than all other teams? So what are Essendon, then?

Hope both clubs are happy with the result from the trade, disappointing that a promising young player is departing, but hopefully with what ever our club can give you it will allow you to select a player with as much promise (or more) in the future.

Good luck for the next year (and for trade week.) Stay classy as I think you will find most of the Port Adelaide Forum Board Members are decent guys who would be happy for you to be compensated well for any trade with us.

Will be our First Pick or our PP for Brad depending on how tough Peter "I am useless" Rohde decides to get.

I am sure the clubs will find a trade as neither generally acts like arseholes at the table. I hope we pick up a promising youngster in it that is underrated by the fans/club. That Kennedy bloke we got in the Judd trade turned out alright.

I'm confident picks 23 and 28 could actually net us some decent players.

Some speculation a Mitch Grigg or a Hayden Crozier could last that long. If we picked up a McInness/Lockyer + a Grigg/Crozier with those picks we'd have done well.

Pick 6 won't happen even if we offered them 23 and 45 as well. Unless we were giving them Lycett as well as has been mentioned. But do not want. What will six get us anyway? If 4 has been offered for Omeara then we would need to give six and a player or two. That seems way too high for Omeara. I don't think we will be going for clark either. Just smoke for Freo IMO.

I appreciate that Larr,hence why i said i can see why you'd take them off due to stupidity. I don't find it too civil however when Port supporters come onto this board and incite PSD rumours, threats of take it or leave it and expect some of us not to get pissed off. Delete the post as it served no real purpose but to piss off Port supporters because frankly i'm sick of them being on here. If they can remain objective i welcome them all, i can take as good as i give but i'm sick of hearing their shit.

We have had our bridges burnt in the past with trades and we would not burn our Western State Bridges in this trade.

Unfortunately in a direct trade your second rounder is the fairest it probably gets, despite Ebert being worth being 10 or so picks higher.

Good question, perhaps not the thread for it but can try to briefly answer it.

Despite what you do hear in the media our Ruck situation isnt as horrific as most seem to believe.

We have Matthew Lobbe who was a First Rounder Ruckman who is a big, strong and young kid. He could take it up to almost anyone in the AFL and did so on a couple of occasions this year; the issue though was that there was no support behind him.

We have a couple of younger guys in Redden and Webb, Redden being the more mature/stronger player who you will see a bit of early next year. Really big unit for a young guy, with a huge kick on him.

Webb is again similar to Redden and has kicked a couple bags of 5+ Goals in the SANFL this year.

We also had/have Daniel Bass who was an American Recruit Basketball Player (100kgs, 200cm) who has been a Rookie with us for the last two years. Had developed hugely and was pretty much our Number 2 Young Ruck and close to call up this year. (He has been 'delisted' but there are rumours that we will be re-rooking him and its a bit of a play to force GWS to take Longer with #5.)

Apart from that, we do have Westhoff, Stewart and Trengove who can all Ruck part-time.

Maybe its naive, but I dont think we are in that bad of a situation.

No doubt the club is targetting Brent Renouf with Jon Griffin a backup option. Fact is you will be targetting a mature aged ruckman (unless Rhode is pulling everyones leg) and I think you will need all the extra picks in order to get a deal across the line

Id say pick 45 should be enough to net you Renouf.

I can't see how Port can trade in Ebert and Griffin and satisfy both parties, Griffin is contracted and required according to what Lyons has said.

Are there any other Port players looking for a trade to net them picks?

I think 28 + 33 for Ebert + one of our later picks (45 or 63) is where it will end up.

PS 45 for Renouf sounds too cheap, how many games did he play this year?
