Brad Hill has requested a trade to Fremantle in his exit meeting today according to Damien Barrett on Footy Classified and a Mitch Cleary on Twitter

What do we think it will take to get it done? and what is everybody's opinion on getting Hill?
Seeing as it looks like the deal will get done (unless the Hawks pull a GWS)

I think the Hawks will be keen to move Hill on

1) to clear cap space
2) after the assault charge / alleged rape-witness incident (the other player involved is no longer at the Hawks either)
3) while he has value as a premiership player - but isn't required

the hawks will try extract value - but i don't think we should pay more than a 3rd rounder if that

I am so unenthusiastic about this. So long as we don't give up too much and it means Danyle Pearce gets pushed out of the side then I'm all for it.

My worry is that we get him in, and it turns out that being in a champion team made him look better than he is, and he turns into DP except without the long booming kicks, with better shorter kicks, but getting caught HTB twice as often

My issue is related and it's seeing both Hill and Pearce playing in purple. Even if it's only two years I don't think having them in the same side is smart. I think I'd be a lot more excited about getting Bradley if DPearce wasn't a best 22 lock.

I think Hill is a better runner than Danyle. He just runs and runs at speed. He is very outside and isn't a long kick, but I think he makes fewer mistakes. And he doesn't try to bustle through a tackle like Suban does, so shouldn't get caught HTB that much. The thing I like about Hill is the speed with which he disposes of the ball. But it might be a lot easier when the players you are targeting are Cyril Rioli and Gunston.

B.hill is pretty good kicking inside 50. Puts it too advantage in most instances.

In 2014 he was so important to the hawks, teams seemed to target him and smith to shut down, as it was commonly beleived that that was the key to beating them.

Who in our best 22 makes way for Hill? How will the Hill brothers evolve in the same side? Can we bring install a more defensive mindset to Brad like we did with Stephen? So many questions.

It might also depend on the strength of the system - run to here, kick to there - which makes the players look awesome when it comes off "he has great vision". I don't think some of our players are as bad as they appear at times - if you look at Walters last season vs the number of OOB this season, a large chunk of how they perform comes down to the role they play and the system in place. That's the bit that worries me.

Must be 2nd priority behind McCarthy

Must be for a pick no earlier than 22ish or a player around that value

If both of those occur then i'm okay with it.

Deeply ambivalent about Hill.

North gave hawthorn pick 15 & 55 for jed Anderson and picks 38 & 40

Brisbane gave north pick 17 for Bastinac plus some other draft pick swaps

Hill is a better player than both of those two.

You'd think hawthorn will be asking for a late first round pick. Doesn't mean they'll get it obviously

If you consider his role at Hawthorn it's obviously, OBVIOUSLY Danyle Pearce. It's the most clear cut like-for-like upgrade you'll see. I expect his golden ticket to last until the day he retires though so you have to look elsewhere. Sheridan or Langdon, probably. On your second question, I think it'll be the making of both players. Hopefully anyway. We've seen good-natured rivalries between our players before, I think Mayne/Ballas/Walters had a tackling competition a few years back (lol) and this should be a huge escalation of that. Brotherly rivalry is a powerful bond.

North = Bent Over (they traded for potential)
Brisbane = Bent Over (just plain dumb)
Plus there must have been a lot your not mentioning, Bastinac is nowhere near pick 17.

I don't know that Hill does as much off the ball as Danyle does but yeah, DPearce might be a well-paid WAFL player next year.
