Isn't Freo already 'choc a bloc' with midfielders?
How will they fit Bennell and others in?
Shouldn't the priority be on acquiring a key tall muscular forward, and a defender in order to not be so reliant on Johnson and Dawson. Particularly if injury strikes.
I agree that our priorities lie else where in getting some KPP and ruckmen. But at the same time I wouldn't mind Brad Hill if the price was right. I'd like to think we are choc a block filled with mids but surely we aren't if players like Suban are still getting games for us...

I don't think you can have enough quality midfield talent. Great midfields win premierships

Why not spend time and money on fyfe ,bennell on their injuries . We still got balic to come back. As for suban i dont think b.hill come in to replace him instead more likely d.pearce. GC game show some indication with that chat.

Reckon we've already got a great midfield though with more young talent to come. Is it worth spending a late first/early second on an area of strength when we desperately need talls.

Brad Hill doesn't turn around games on his own ala Fyfe or Mundy. He only improves a functioning system.

B hill isnt a midfielder anyway...he is a classic wingman, outside runner....
you guys def have enough quality mids, and will probably pick up a triple (?) premiership elite outside speedster for a bargain price....

This is more an off field problem, and after 2013 the club hasn't been ruthless enough to
enforce change, improve the bottom talent on the list.
The role players have been in the system too long, we have been close, but never good
enough, and you still see it Today running around the park.

Brad Hill is not a priority.

If he has another year on his contract to run, he will come with added costs. When his contract finishes, he comes with less impediments.

My question with Brad Hill is, after 3 premierships ( maybe more ? ), will he still have the hunger ?. Des Hedland mark 11.

I now don't think we'll get Brad this off season. I think it is better for all parties if we wait. Hawks get to keep him for another year at least. We'll be far more competitive next year but I highly doubt we'll be pushing for a flag so getting cream like BHill is probably a waste for the moment. Instead we stick to the plan of going to the draft to build our list. Next year he is out-of-contract, so he will be cheaper and we might have better currency to trade with another year of development in to our players. We'll also have a much better idea then of which of our players aren't part of our next premiership push so we will probably be willing to trade players of greater value to other clubs without fear of wrecking our own list. Worst case Brad comes to us as a free agent in 2019 and he and Stephen still have plenty of playing years left.

Our midfield strength is on the inside. For skill/speed/run it is basically Bennell and Hill. Though all of our top mids can offer both inside/outside game.

But guys like Sheridan, Mzungu, Sutcliffe, Pearce D ... I don't think they're that flash, and B.Hill is a good option to replace them. Weller, Langdon (if he stays), SPS (if drafted) are more options. But even though we need other things more, a runner like B.Hill would still be very useful.

I do agree with waiting for B.Hill to see out his contract.

Despite the lure of playing with his brother Stephen at the Dockers, Hill said his focus was on maintaining his form for the remainder of the season.

“It would be great (to play with Stephen) but I haven’t really thought about it too much yet,” he said.

“I want to keep playing, like I said, for Hawthorn and play the best I can. I’ll make a decision, it might be next year or in a couple years but I’ve just got to keep on focusing on this season.

“I’m at Hawthorn now, I could still be here next year and years to come.”
