Booooo you think he would want to stay and be appreciative of finally getting a chance. Gut feel is that he will be a very loyal player for us for many years to come.
I agree, I like the cut of his jib, still has lots to learn but you can tell he's focused on the task..

I dunno. Brad Hill wants to play with his brother, so even though he is still under contract, hawthorn and fremantle and everyone else are talking deals. Why??? because brad said he wanted to play with his brother. I smell bull. They did a job on brad, did hawthorn with their culture. He's got issues, he's generating poor press for hawthorn. His game is off. For two seasons he's been off. Hawthorn want to get rid of him I reckon and may have gone along with trying to do a deal with his team of choice. Give them nothing and wait. On the other hand, out of hawthorn would be a good thing for the kid, but basically freo would be doing hawthorn a favour by taking him on.

And he's got a lot to look forward to with new multi million dollar facilities and a new 60 000 seat stadium which will be the best in the country and beautiful summers on the Perth beaches. Why would you want to leave? Also our list will be very exciting next year with some new fresh faces through the door.
I will be very surprised if a Brad Hill deal is not done personally, and I think we'll get him at a reasonable price. The lad wants to come home IMO and a Hill on each wing are the stuff dreams are made of. Would love him through the door.

So of us on the Hawks thread believe well get your compo pick if Chris Mayne was to leave through free agency.

Would a pick between 20 to 30 sound about right.

For Brad Hill? Yep about right.

For Mayne compo? Depends on what someone offers him, but based on my early calculations scoring a pick 20-30 is about as likely as Zac Clarke taking a pack mark.

Collins is in the mould of Mickie Barlow, very thankful for the opportunity.

I will spit it if Collins is wrapped up in a trade for Brad Hill.

I'm yet to be convinced , Brad Hill has too many simularities to Des Hedland.

Would still prefer a Hedland/Hill over a D Pearce who is currently best 22 because of the skill difference!

That's probably all we'd be willing to part with, but I'm not sure Mayne would command a pick that high. He's hardly set the world on fire the last couple of seasons.

AFL.com trying to up his price here: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-07-27/fremantle-has-a-hill-to-climb-to-secure-trade-from-hawthorn

Can somebody clarify for me - is Hill initiating and/or pushing this or is Freo? This article reads as if we are, and I'm not convinced that we are...

Yeah poor article. Looks solely at the Hawks side & doesn't touch on if we need hill. Also says we want picks to rebuild, but then suggests we'd have to package up Crozier & Apeness who are key factors in our rebuild. Strange one.

Eastern states based media pumping up a Hawks player while ignoring the interstate teams needs/direction. We are apparently in a rebuild yet will spend a mid first rounder on Hill....

I thought he would look at coming back to WA before he signed his last extension with Hawthorn. Certainly Hawthorn plan everything and the chance to spin that they are being really helpful when in actual fact they know his form is dropping, he is homesick/having issues and they need the salary cap room is not one they are going to pass up. Buy low sell high for them but our priorities should be pick 3, McCarthy first then Hill then a late round or rookie ruck

It mentions one thing worth repeating - Hill has never placed in Hawthorn's top ten at the end of the year. Says it all really.

Im putting money on crozier being part of a deal. It would be an exchange of draft picks possibly as well. I think thats a win win.

I like Croz and would like to keep him but that would be a win for us even though Croz has been better this year. So you are right it would need an additional pick from us which at the moment we really don't have.
