Brandon Jennings: Rookie of the Year

So is it still a forgone conclusion that Jennings will be ROY??

In his past 4 games he has gone 20 of 69 shooting .289. His saving grace has been that he is 7 of 15 in that time for 3PT.

He is still getting similar shot numbers but he has taken 12 FTA in the past 4 games and had 0 attempts in 2 of them.
I am glad you brought it up because if I did I would have been labelled as a hater ;)

His last 4 games have been pretty average and those numbers are slowly getting down to the "reasonable" level.

Tyreke is still balling at a consistently good level and lately has been flirting with a triple double or two.

Jennings had a rough patch trying to carry the team with Bogut out, he'll be ok. Personally I think it would be nice if he's ROY but meh. Evans will have to adjust to Kevin Martin coming back which will be intersting. Personally I think he's a guy who needs a pg next to him even though he's the main playmaker.

C mon now hes a rookie, there will be some bumps along the way. Surely he couldnt keep up his 25ppg game pace. Still, most of you doubters predicted his downfall will be when the 3 ball stops falling, which he is still shooting a sweet 50%.

So why did you pronounce him the ROTY after 8 games if you knew this kind of thing would happen.

Scary to think what will happen when that stops too.

It can be pretty pointless doing those kind of comparisons - the numbers are too arbitrary.
You could just as easily point out that the only players averaging 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game are LeBron, Wade and Jennings.

Either way it's pretty impressive for a couple of rookies - couldn't tell you who's better at the moment, especially since I haven't seen any Kings games

Bit selective there with the stats no doubt. Having said that, what Evans is doing as a rookie is highly impressive. Once he develops that jumper (and it IS looking better) he will be unguardable. The Hornets geared their whole defence about stopping Evans which led to his 14 point game but opened up things for others such as Sergio who had a career game.

Evans as a rookie is already an impact player and that in itself is pretty special

stopping a rookie leads to 14 points - where do i sign up? :D

expectations are ridiculously high these days and often very narrow-minded when dealing with rookies. many starters barely average 14 points are game but are considered good-handy players but when a rookie has a few 20 point games but then scores 8,10,9 points - hes completely dropped off and shown he wont amount to much more than a bench player?

please - 2-3 years before anything can be made of these players

Yeah true but super impressive either way.

If they did I would have quoted it too. Both have just been immense for rookies.

Spot on. Just trying to get the point across that it's stupid to call ROTY after 10 matches.

Because waht he is doing is clearly impressive and to me, hes head and shoulders ahead of the pack

Since Kevin Martin has been sidelined with a busted wrist, these are Tyreke's numbers

22.9 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.4 apg, 1.09 spg, .481 FG, .450 3PT, .844 FT

And more importantly his team is 8-4 in that span.

Which ever way you look at that it screams out special. Those are all-star level numbers.

The ROY is just getting heated up IMHO.

Tyreke Evans is a STUD!
