Please ask anyone who thinks Maynard is guilty if they have ever jumped off the 1 or 3 metre board in the swimming pool and deliberately landed on their stomach without going into the phoebus position.
This is a very simple reflex of squeezing the arms and legs together to protect the abdomen and genitals.
Anything that resists this cannot be a rational person.

Faaark me the brother Hamish is such a sour puss.
You can’t just ask for an appeal based on emotion that it’s your brother.
Logic played out here fairly and justice was well and truly served.
I'm disgusted with the Brayshaw family. It is not Maynard's fault that their son happens to have been concussed multiple times and was therefore likely to suffer severely from a knock others may have recovered from.

I don't care how shattered you are. If you watch that footage it is clear to anyone without an agenda that what happened was freakishly bad luck with absolutely zero malice or intent.

What if the opposition is GWS?

It doesn’t matter who the opposition is. My point being “if anyone we meet in the Prelim or even GF starts booing him, we start a chant to drown them”

As suggested above

BRUZZY

BRUZZY

BRUZZY

BRUZZY

would be rather effective.

They didn't have to send him to the tribunal.

They could easily have confirmed that there was no case to answer.

Michael Christian (justifiably) didn't think it was warranted and was apparently overruled by HQ.

They were clearly trying to window dress.
Yep. Michael Christian should feel vindicated.

The correct decision in the end. The bottom line is, AFL is a dangerous and tough sport. Players put their body on the line. I guess that's why we all bloody love this game.

Although I do feel a sense of elation that Maynard is free, there is a uneasiness about the whole thing. Hearing that Brayshaw was knocked out cold for two minutes and the fact that he wears the helmet for his mum, gives me chills. One concussion is scary let alone repeat concussions.

Hope now the verdict is in, this media circus can stop and we can focus on the most important thing, Brayshaw's health which I think is largely lost in all of this.

Sanity prevails. And honestly, shame on the media and journalists that perpetuated this character assassination against Bruz. Stories for 5 days that have made the Dees players look petty when Bruz looks to make amends. Publicising mother Brayshaw's anger. Digging up checks notes Hamish Brayshaw?! for his opinion on the incident. I mean honestly, what the fk?

I love that he got off, for the sake of him, the team and footy in general. And I hope that Gus recovers well (seen running today, showing that the rumours of his demise mightve been greatly exaggerated to support the "thug Bruz" narrative). But the media beat up and attack on a players character is pretty distasteful.

Just went on the Melbourne board thinking at least one in three will say Maynard should never have been charged.

Silly me.

Well this will return us to our rightful place as the most hated club and despised supporters.

Order has been restored.
Screw em. I look forward to seeing them being put down on Friday night like the pathetic mongrels they are.

Using his own words - "you can only go by the facts". He uses coke, he uses meth, he cheats on his partners, he's genuine scum and one of the worst blokes in footy.
You forgot the degenerate gambler bit.

Just skimmed through the Melbourne board. Not a feral bunch, but their posts still have the hallmarks of some kind of collective concussion.

They make our board seem sharp in comparison, which I think we can agree is a terrible indictment.

The inability of so many to distinguish between an attempted smother and a player who chooses to bump instead of tackle is mesmerising: I can't understand it and I'm troubled by the cognitive misfire but I just can't look away.

There is a universal law, apparently. THE HEAD IS SACROSANCT. The AFL itself decreed this, intending it to apply to every conceivable situation on a football field, no exceptions, but now it has broken its own sacred code because it wants Collingwood to win the premiership.

I thought that the MFC was made up of a 'better sort' of supporter base, but it appears that Big Footy is left to deal with the absolute dregs, the type who have no quince paste to go with their cheeses.

Unlike our own assortment of classy and sophisticated types.

All this reinforces is that the AFL is as corrupt as FIFA, I have been saying this all along. People s******.

They dragged a player through the mud, to protect their own arses.

They are concerned about a Class Action, nothing to do with what Maynard did.

Pretty much according to their position AFL should cease to exist. Give up your wages and quit you dogs, or go administer/leech off the netball..oh wait there is no Collingwood team to give you a free ride and fill the coffers. Dogs

Even after the right outcome, I remain REALLY pissed off with Melbourne FC over this.

Initial, understandibly, emotive responses aside, their actions since the night have been out of order.

*.

Them.

(I think his brother should've stayed out of it entirely but whatever).

The behaviour of Melbourne FC is consistent with a club which is hugely disappointed with its own performance. Another flag is slipping away, despite their talented list, and in desperation they are hitting out. If it wasn’t Bruzzy and Brayshaw, it would be something else. I don’t recall a coach commenting in this depth on a reported incident before, and Goodwin did it more than once and not just in the emotional aftermath of a loss where such behaviour is at least understandable.

Ive always knew it, but dont get it. Most t footy supporters genuinely hate collingwood, i dont get it. Id have a beer with most pies people, its real, we are hated

Believe. It’s real.

I mentioned it on the main board. Imagine if Martin used his swinging arm, clenched fist on Brayshaw rather than Blakey. Or Van Rooyen collecting Brayshaw with his elbow nowhere near the ball. I’d hate to think the damage he would have caused him.

Yet, they cop 1 week for the conduct set out to intentionally cause harm. And they are up in arms over Maynard…..

What we don't want to hear today is that the AFL are appealing the decision.
I imagine that if they do so then it will just be for optics and the conclusion is foregone. MRO and the tribunal have already cleared it despite the media circus and lengthy hearing.
