Don’t know if any of you guys caught Gawn on MMM this morning being interviewed by Marty Sheogold?

He basically refuted what Caro claimed about Maynard’s visit to Brayshaw.

He was there and so was Petracca - he says that all three of them know each other well. He says that he himself took the flowers and put them in a vase and also put the wine in the wine fridge.

He says that Maynard was there about 10 mins in total and basically indicated that there were no issues.

So, Caro either made that all up, or alternatively no doubt will claim that this is what her source told her and stand by that.
I even heard Hamish (of all people) say that although he wasn't there, he didn't think that reporting on the house visit by Edmunds & Caro was entirely accurate.

Funny how the media are not talking that up. Such gossipmongers.

Brayshaw's brother was on radio and said the family was "shocked" that Maynard was there so soon after the injury and it was a little uncomfortable.

I just downloaded Footy Classified to watch Caroline Wilson's comments on Maynard. My mates, still clutching hand forks, weed scratchers and the like, watched it with me on the laptop in the i30.

The boys wasted no time paying for an express Bunnings delivery of pitchforks and an electric saw. These blokes are a bit feral - not the type that The Voice YES vote would be counting upon to help it over the line. They're pretty keen to go and I'm even more keen to see them go.

All that's now required is the designated driver to return the car in one piece, all the boys chip in for a full detail of the car's interior, and that the tools are put to good use.

The brother has also said he wasn't there, so he doesn't really know. The brother has back tracked on a lot of stuff he said in the heat of the moment. The brother has also said he didn't think the reporting on the awkwardness was entirely accurate.

You've clearly lost the argument when you resort to name calling and personal attacks.

Another data point to suggest it was window dressing by the AFL was the absolute acceptance of the tribunal decision and zero suggestion of appeal.

Kane also used the word "independent" about 20 times in her speech, which is exactly how they wanted to spin the comms, after breaking process and having the EGM over rule the MRO.

They had to take it to the tribunal to protect the system. This couldn't have been seen to be decided any other way. The only thing that was a bit dodgy was giving it a classification. Apparently they can send it to the Tribunal unclassified. But the issue is that that would have looked dodgy when he got off, which they would have thought was the most likely outcome.

Bashing the AFL admin is a national sport, but they don't always deserve it

Yep, spin.

I do agree that this was primarily done in order to have an indepenent body provide a transparent view of the decision process. It would have been better for them to say that and unclassify, rather than pretend they wanted him suspended. More spin.

Then she has the nerve to say pies leaked the visit purposely for a good look. Even though shes essentailly made up a lot of BS about issues when he arrived. She was so hypocritical in her spiel the other night , Kane and Lloyd shut her down immediatley

I applaud Maynard for going there personally. Takes a special type of person to check in on someone after an awkard incident. General public dont even have this knack. My boss was in a car accident and received no welfare check from the offender apart from a forced written 10 word letter essentially from what i suppose is her legal advice.

Maynards a real one, he cares for people who he knows from what ive seen and his team mates.

He's the favourite for the Sandover Medal according to Will Schofield, so can't be too bad.
BTW, Schofield tempered his opinions last night and believes the outcome of the tribunal was the correct one.
Yep he looked like he came around a bit like Whateley.

Interestingly Jordan Lewis, (the last really big knockout hit) said he agreed with the decision.
Also mentioned the hardest part about coming back was game day.
Hope Angus gets a chance to chat with him.
I think with the benefit of time and hindsight Angus will also agree with the tribunals decision.

I'm not going to stand for this reasonableness getting in the way of my cheap shot!

The Hamish interview on SEN on tribunal night was built up to be an explosive performance but disappointed expectations. He even suggested that somewhere down the track, Brayshaw would come to appreciate Maynard's wine and flower visit,

This is a huge bombshell. The flowers actually made the vase. From the Captain! Alpha move from Bruzzy to tell Gawn "Go find a vase for these will ya champ"

Did she really just release a public statement requesting privacy?

She’ll double down on it and by proxy call Gawn a liar. It’s what she does.

In fairness to Caro, it wouldn't surprise me if the Dees are trying to take the heat out of the story to get reporters to stop harassing them for comment and get their heads into winning a final.
