North, Freo, St Kilda and a new startup Tassie Devils all move to Tassie to play in the Tassie Government funded Twilight TARL (Tasmanian Aussie Rules League)
Each sides plays the other 4 times, with a game on Tuesday and Wednesday played from 4.30pm to 6.30pm (half under lights).

Broadcast by a free to air community TV network in glorious low res PAL.

From little things big things grow.:D

Lets do it like this. We victorians don't really can't what happens to interstate clubs so they can all just go away. West Coast and Freo in the WAFL, Port and Adelaide back to the SANFL, Brisbane to the AFLQ, and Sydney can move into the NRL that way people might notice them in their state.

Bring back Princes Park, Windy Hill, Vic Park etc etc and lets bring back the VFL!!

No? There's as much chance of this happening as there is a breakout league.

Spot on. Agree 100% with you. Scary thing is it seems a lot of the Vic club supporters have been brainwashed by all the $ making quotes from liars like Demitrou and Maguire that they let the draw be rigged because they think the crowd sizes and $'s are the main thing! The integrity of the comp is gone. Quality of matches is often very poor.

A lot of people here want a break away league to form. I know the SANFL is getting bigger again each year as the AFL is sterile and the style of game is close to water polo. The more traditional rules in the SANFL and the umpiring is light years ahead of the AFL.

Would love for WA, SA and NT to form a comp. Couldn't give a f*** if the AFL is bigger and has more money etc. Get back to real tough hard Aussie Rules. A 'Premier' league meritocracy style comp has been talked about here to have the top SA and WA clubs in it with Tas, NT and I think Port Melbourne even inquired about joining the SANFL they are that shafted by the AFL NAZI's.

Yes we need a Jamie Packer or one of the WA mining magnates to give the nod and watch what happens. The WACA, Bellrieve and Adelaide Oval are AFL free too which is a good start.

The Vic-centric AFL has ignored its heartland states at its peril in its quest to keep non-viable clubs afloat, transplant the game just for dollars, and dilute and bastardise the game to satisfy the PC screamers.

The AFL is a socialist competition - a race to mediocrity.

It is much needed mate... after all, if there's anything that the AFL would truly benefit from, it's a club based on Mars!

We've already got that Ziggy Stardust tune which could easily be used as the club theme song, as long as David Bowie gives the OK, of course ;)

And yet Collingwood have only won one premiership in 50 years of being in the VFL/AFL.

They wont win another premiership for the next 20 years based on concessions...to interstate teams...

Suck it and see.

Eddie Maguire is too nice.

Brisbane beat them in two Grand Finals due to concessions...

There hasn't been a level playing field for 20 years and wont be for another 10.

Yet, small minded Collingwood supporters want to sit there and see the biggest supported team which is Collingwood subsidise a competition that they never win...

Look at the Luke Ball issue. He wanted to go to Collingwood but the AFL rules stopped him. It happens all the time.

Collingwood will always be a small club because it has a small club mentality.

Why not grab the propsed Tasmanian team with the money of the tasmanian governemt, St Marys from Northern Territory, Glenelg and Norwood, West Perth and South Fremantle and start their own league.

At least then, Collingwood wouldn't have to put up with the compromises it has to put up with now and for the next 10 years when Gold Coast and west Sydney will rise to the top.

If it could pull another of the big Melbourne Clubs into the new league then we would have a real opposition to the AFL.

Look at Richmond.

They will never get out of the fluff they are in. They go through administrators and coaches and no growth of the Club.

Yet if they joined a break away league, they would have a real chance to be something.

At the mo, they will sit outside the finals for another 20 years.

Because their younger fans haven't known success, they have no expectations.

Watch as Gold Coast and West Sydney start to win premierships knowing that clubs like Collingwood, Richmond, Essendon and Carlton are funding the league with very little on field success to show for it.

Essendon are in a world of pain for the next ten years too.

Carlton without Fevola wont be rocking the premiership cup anytime soon.

It is all about bang for your buck.

And the bigger Melbourne teams are getting none from the AFL at the mo and it will get worse in the next 10 years.

They are letting their fans down by not maximizing their advantage.

Collingwood football club - 1 premiership in 50 years of VFL/AFL yet they are happy to be pushed around by smaller clubs come draft time and not utilise their size and competitive advantage.

I feel sorry for Collingwood football fans as they can't see the forest for all the trees.

 
Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon and Richomnd should vote as a block majority to get themselves what they want in AFL as they hold the competitive advantage in terms of revenue raising for the AFL. Attendance and TV watching.

Instead they bicker amongst themselves and destabilise their power base so much so that they are useless in front of the AFL administration and roll over to whatever is asked of them.

Eddie Maguire is an AFL plant, to make sure the Collingwood football Club maxisime revenue for the AFL but so that they never ever win an AFL premiership.

The Melbourne clubs roll over and all their revenue goes to the administrator in the AFL.

The Melbourne teams are weak.

If they set up their own power base, they could break away and destroy the power hungry, money hungry fools at AFL house.

Until they do that, they will all finish 4th to 8th every year and be beaten by smaller teams with less power.

You wouldn't see big teams with big minds do that.

Chelsea and Manchester United in the EPL. The Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Yankees..

they all drive the decision making processes of their leagues...

as they know their own power and revenue raising ability..

not in the AFL..

the big Melbourne Clubs have no idea..

they are politically very weak.
