It actually terrifies me what Lids would do at Geelong if he stayed fit which there is no reason he wouldn't.

you were just being a pedant flog- it is cool- i get it--- thank you for your further insight too/

lets be blunt then, its not about being pedantic, its about being honest. he's not in the top 10% of AFL players now. He will never play 22 games a year again, and he is there for class and impact in a decent team, not to carry a team to a win

its no slight on him, but he's about to hit 30 with old man injuries.

Lids wants out

Geelong want Lids

rumours are that both teams have no idea how to work out a trade

That's a lie, it's being sorted.

Likely to be a young player and a pick.

You read it here first.

:(

edit: not naming source, but my source almost has a 100% hit rate so that's good enough for me
if your source is wrong do you punch them in the face ??

Fun fact: Motlop owns two Mexican restaurants - one in Geelong and one in Lorne.

Not surprisingly, they look fantastic from the outside, great decor, nice menu. Unfortunately, upon closer inspection the food is over-priced and and quite a let down.

not a metaphor.

Are they called Sanchez's???

There are about 700 AFL players so the top 10% is the Top 70.

Last year he made AA (top 22) while only playing 15 games (which means he's probably firmly top 15 due to being at a disadvantage from playing less games), so I think your claim is unjustifiable.

He can still carry a team to a win IMO, once he's fit he's 100%. You're right about him not playing 22 games though and that's the problem - not that he's significantly below 100% when he does play.

Deledio's reduced value is related to his inability to play 22 games, not due to his reduced output once he's up and running.

All you need for that math is an average of 3-4 players per club to be better than him. And a dud club like us has four

What did we give up for that prick again? And what did he cost us?

Most expensive player in the history of the AFL
Why the personal insult... what has he done to deserve being called a prick? I'm sick of the constant vitriol being thrown at our players both past and present from posters on this site.
I suppose it's easy (not to mention gutless) when hiding behind an avatar.

Not every club has a fab five like Rance, Martin, etc. Think we'll struggle to find 70 players better than Deledio, but agree to disagree.

In terms of his value to Geelong, I think he is likely to offer them 15 games of near-AA quality football. If they manage him right, they can get him peaking around finals for 3-4 years.

They'd look at him kicking 3 first quarter goals against Hawthorn last year for what they're getting. He can miss a few games early in the season as he won't be relied upon to get them to the finals, his role would the cream on top during finals in big games.

There aren't many cream players for a Top 4 team this trade period better than Deledio. Of course, it comes down to what Geelong are willing to pay and how much they prioritise their future. Considering their Dangerfield investment, I would understand if they double down with Deledio.

I'll eat Morro shit as he is a vegan if this happens. Not doubting your 100% locked source mccuzzy but outside of the media Foamers all the noise is lids stays or heads to GC in the prestia deal

Are you saying there's still a chance he stays? Best news since we won the sydney game last season!!
