The media claims Richmond can not win without Deledio.

If we trade Deledio does that mean we are tanking for the No 1 draft pick in 2018?
Funny isn't it, they can't bring that fact up fast enough now all they can talk about is us trading.
You can already see them writing the headlines next year about how bad it was to trade him out (if we do).

This would have to be a three way deal. We would want draft picks, unless they offer a quality player obviously, but they don't have any.

If it involves Motlop or Carey who has played 10 games In two years or something. to us I will cry

No I heard Lids and Cotch were happy to continue with the Chip and Slow Hardwick plan (that even Hardwick wanted to change but certain Assistants made that hard) and stay the course and those that opposed where on the outer (hence Riewoldt out of Leadership group).
Ok, then it seems off that he would be kicked out for essentially backing the coaches idea.

Not sure how this has all come to head with Lids. Its gone from him saying "all noise" to now he wants to go?

Something not right down there at PRO, something stinks.

I can't imagine Lids has had a change of heart, he was dead set on being a one club player.

I think the club know that they can shop Lids around and if they don't get the return they're after, then Lids stays at Punt Rd, no loss.

Geelong show interest, Lids says well if I can't stay here, my family are near Geelong so I suppose I'll choose them, then the clubs try to work something out.

Don't think the issue is the difference between the groups philosophy, but how an elitist click group was causing tension in the playing group. It was looking at another 90's style split playing group with one group stifling the other. I think that prior to the review it was more seen as Riewoldt was the issue, however the review found otherwise.

At the risk of shattering your fantasy, I would like to personally invite you into my newsroom one afternoon and let you see how one operates if you think that's how journalists and editors work, sitting around and scheming against the RFC o_O

Lids wants out

Geelong want Lids

rumours are that both teams have no idea how to work out a trade

That's a lie, it's being sorted.

Likely to be a young player and a pick.

You read it here first.

:(

edit: not naming source, but my source almost has a 100% hit rate so that's good enough for me
You ok bra?

Kinda sad.

A part of me wants Lids to go to a better club (as long as we get something good in return) to win finals and maybe another individual award, just so he can finally get more out of the hard work he's put in.

I agree mate. It feels like the clubs strategy is all over the place. You don't trade your guns if you think it's going to be a "quick bounce". Leads me to believe that there's been a re-think of where we are and happy to let some senior players go for potential picks.

Just wish the club would tell us what's going on and where they think the list is at.

Are you on PRE? cos I saw almost the exact same thing there

I support Richmond not a Richmond player

I personally believe it was lids who asked to be traded and Richmond were open to the idea provided we get a good return.

Geelong has been pretty good at trading in the past and has been fair, Lids will be playing for Cats in 2017 i have no doubt

Geelong have also shown that they dont mind trading young players to get what they want and believe they can snatch another flag whilst they have Dangerwood and the boys still there

My Guess is Cockatoo for Lids ( But wouldnt suprise if darcy Lang was involved either)

Lids for Cockatoo ................. Yes Please

Would need to be someone like Nakia or Guthrie for me to be happy about it. I will say that Lids is pretty much my favourite player and I'll be ropable if they do a deal for anything less than overs. Stuff being fair. We have leverage and should be using it. We aren't in the business of being nice (well we shouldn't be).
