Deledio likely to stay a Tiger

Brett Deledio is likely to stay at Punt Road, according to Herald Sun reports on Monday.

Deledio, 29, was interested moving to Geelong but a bulging salary cap and a lack of a suitable trade option has held that up. The Cats were not willing to give up midfielder Josh Caddy, in whom the Tigers had expressed interest.

The Age reports that if the Cats were to give up Caddy, they would want a second-round pick plus Deledio.

The Tiger will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2017.

Ruckman Matthew Lobbe could end up at Richmond if the Tigers' bid to land Swans big man Toby Nankervis fails, says a report in the Adelaide Advertiser

Awesome, our big fish is Deledio!

Honestly believe he's got 4-5 years left in him and we should build around our current stars.

Trade this year and next year's first rounder so we've got:

Deledio, Riewoldt, Rance, Cotchin, Martin, Prestia, future 1st rounder traded for good 25yo, and Rockcliff for a 2nd rounder... that puts us in premiership contention next year.

Stuff draft picks and putting it off forever, let's get this playing group feeling like they're getting all our resources poured into a 2017 premiership, not a 2022 maybe potential shot at a future premiership.

Yeah let's follow the same path that has gotten us no where! Top up city!

Prestia and Rockliff are neither top ups nor reflective of our past trading behaviour, therefore you're a little dim for drawing that conclusion.

We've kept our first rounder every year for 12 years now so tell me which is the same path that has "gotten" us nowhere?

As far as im concerned if he wants out let him go, get what you can for him before he leaves next year and we get nothing. Rather him gone than a rance or martin.

Not delusional, just don't want to give up Caddy. Lids approached us, you guys asked for Caddy, we said no, so he stays.

That doesnt mean you get him for nothing though

So far your fans have proposed:

Caddy for deledio and pick 6

Deledio to be delisted by Richmond, contract paid out, and geelong pick him up for free as a dfa with no compo to richmond

If this is what cats fans believe is fair, they are delusional

Except Caddy said he's ok with going to Richmond...

Yes and also that he is happy to stay. He was happy to go if Geelong was happy, but we don't want to trade him.

Same with Carlton, they want Lang and a 2nd round pick for Tuohy but Lang doesn't want to leave and we're not going to force him.
