Hmmm more of a match for the idaho 4 suspect, rather than the current one awaiting trial?

The other issue is getting a jury to convict, due to those extenuating circumstances you mention.
There are already precedents set for extenuating circumstances, hence my comment.Thats true, but with the amount of clear evidence coming out, I highly doubt a judge would let a jury not convict considering Jury members have to confirm they can enter a plea without bias before they go on the panel.
If in the case jury members entered a non-guilty verdict, I suspect the judge would just enter a judgement notwithstanding verdict.
Imagine the precedent set if this guy gets off? I highly doubt that is allowed to happen.

Quite a bit of material about it. The US justice system gets a bit strange sometimes.
Wouldn't be so sure of that. Trial of the Decade coming up.nothings impossible and will be interesting to see, very unsure what extenuating circumstances would exist to allow premediate, plan and murder the CEO of a company.
think this guy's going away for a very long time.

Which one is it? One is determinable, the other is not. He's getting locked up for life, for for as long as the law allows.
Sorry to hear about your family member. I don't feel that the comparison to aged care facilities is entirely valid as people go there to, ultimately, die. There is the idea the violence begets violence. In a way, violence is every day life. Violence is systemic. Denying people healthcare for unjust reasons is a slow, systemic, violence on peoples lives. It results in suffering and death.
Money over peoples lives. It is the same in Australia to a degree. I have had a family member pass away in an aged facility due to negligence. Why did this happen? Well, what is the number one goal of an Aged care facility? To make money. If someone dies in there, does it close down? No. IF it stops turning a profit does it close down? Yes.
This, the prioritiastion of money, the endless pursuit of money, over peoples lives, to me is a form of slow violence. I'm not advocating that what Luigi Mangilione did was right. But the world is sick.
I don't know the law in whichever jurisdiction he is being tried, but he's getting 20+ years.Which one is it? One is determinable, the other is not.
I thought you said he's getting life. Now it's 20 years, depending on jurisdiction. What if he wears a rainbow colored shirt... Maybe 5 years?I don't know the law in whichever jurisdiction he is being tried, but he's getting 20+ years.

Really? He's getting somewhere between 20 years and the duration of his natural life.I thought you said he's getting life. Now it's 20 years, depending on jurisdiction. What if he wears a rainbow colored shirt... Maybe 5 years?
Well we can all go home now that youve worked it out.Really? He's getting somewhere between 20 years and the duration of his natural life.

Hahahahahaaaaaaa! You mean now that I've explained it for you! I like the French, my ex-housemate was French, absolutely gorgeous, but there's a reason they can make delicious cheese but can't engineer a half-decent car...Well we can all go home now that youve worked it out.
This is going to be a circus beyond OJ proportions and we are living in a very different time. BTW, OJ got off.
We also live in a world where people live a long time, often with very poor health, and their families are no longer able to care for them until their demise. It's really complex, sad and painful, this isn't the forum, and it's not the same as for-profit healthcare IMO.Everyone is ultimately going to die. That doesn't mean anyone, regardless of age, deserves an undignifed death due to negligence. Neglicence that is a result of lack of staff, lack of training, due to 'profitability'. The lives of people should be placed before profit, before money.
In a world where money, where GDP is the most important thing, this is not what happens.
WTF? Why would you think I was French?Hahahahahaaaaaaa! You mean now that I've explained it for you! I like the French, my ex-housemate was French, absolutely gorgeous, but there's a reason they can make delicious cheese but can't engineer a half-decent car...
DM me if you'd care to make it interesting (although, being French, you won't pay out! )

Yes, I agree. You're targetting one point which is besides the whole point. The majority of the world if for-profit. Americans aren't just pissed at healthcare CEOS. They are pissed with corporate america and CEOS in general. It's not just Healthcare Insurers dealing in slow violence agaisnt the majority of people. Its the banking system making record profits while people can't afford to live in a house. Its massive employers like Amazon taking away employee rights. It's gigantic supermarket chains price gouging. It is this system that has created a for-profit healthcare system as the most important thing is money, its GDP.
I saw a while a go there was a thing being developed, known as ''hapiness pill''. It was stated how it would improve peoples productivity at work. That is the world in a nutshell, its about money, not people.
Yeah sounds good, count me all in.
OK, care to make it interesting? I bet he gets 20+ years, will give you 2:1 x
