I don't think Shaw will have that many suiters, a deal around the veteran minimum plus match payments (if he achieves them) should be enough to entice him. That is if he wants to play under Bucks.
Signing Shaw could actually help our salary cap, rather than hinder it.
It'll also allow a great Collingwood player to retire on his own terms and not be delisted, which I think we should at least entertain.
Shaw isn't coming back. GWS have made the right call. GWS had no option but to delist him when Shaw stated he would not be retiring.
Shaw and Buckley have not smoked the Peace Pipe. Shaw has stated in the past that he is unsure he would answer a call from Buckley. Shaw said he had been “pushed out” of Collingwood at the time. “I was definitely pushed out and I didn’t really want to go, didn’t see myself ever leaving Collingwood but it was the best thing I ever did,”
Shaw is 35 in 2 months.
He fell off the cliff in football terms this year. Got caught with the ball more often. Was a bit slow in covering the ground and struggled to get into games. This is reflected in his stats with all of his stats reducing by approx 50% this year.
