On the front page of the Age Sports section today, it confirmed in very simple terms that;
Jon hay would be a kangaroo next year
Daniel Motlop to Port Adelaide
Byron Pickett to Melbourne
Steven Armstrong to Port Adelaide
Obviously there is a few picks thrown in there as well as sweeteners.
The one i look at, Armstrong for Pickett plus probably a draft pick, is an absolute steal for the Demons. Byron Pickett is a Norm Smith Medallist, and has a feared reputation as a hardened player. People must think twice when playing against Pickett, in fear of his bone crunching tactics. The dees should be more than happy to part ways with armstrong and a draft selection. Pickett is exactly what the Demons need; someone with a bit of mongrel in them, with a bit of pure strength and hardness. Pickett will deliver, he better bloody deliver! For Demons supporters, i just hope he can play some good footy while smashing through a few opponents.
Consider this for a hardened midfield/centre line: Pickett, Moloney, Sylvia and McLean. If these guys live up to there hardened expectations, Melbourne can ditch the 'soft' tag
