the era of the maroon and yellow V?

The song we are after is called "Brisbane Bears Will Live Forever". It is to the tune of the Battle Hymn of the Republic (also known as Glory Glory Hallelujah).

Lyrics
If you are a Queenslander then sing along with me
We are the Bears on the Road to victory
All for one and one for all
We'll answer to the call
We're the greatest team of all

2nd Verse
We're the fearless Brisbane Bears
From the mighty Northern State
Our Pride and Guts and Character are gonna make us great
Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth will know their fate
When the Bears run out and roar

Chorus
Brisbane Bears will live forever
We will always stick together
The 'Gabba is the place where people always come to see
The greatest team of all

3rd Verse
The Whistle blows, the Ball is bounced The Crowd all give a yell
And we will do our very best until the final Bell
And when the Game is over we'll be closer to the Flag
We're the greatest team of all

Repeat Chorus

The 'Gabba is the place where people always come to see
The greatest team of all

Imagine if Carlton replaced the CFC with Captain Carlton on their jumper.
Imagine if a Cartoon magpie replaced the Black and white stripes of Collingwood.
Imagine if Essendon's Sash was trashed in favor of a Paper plane.

Well The Collingwood one has been done, now where's the other two? And I hope The Dons have theirs done first (carn the Roos!)

Is the missing song on the Brisbane's One Step Closer 96 VHS anybody?...I've got it but can't play it for now through my PC/TV as monitor/VHS/CD set up that my son did for me...I will get him to look at it later today and I'd like to view the action again too.

I've found it uploaded in 2 parts to youtube:

The bears' theme song is played at the end of part 2, but it's the original.

Yep. I was just explaining to Old Den that the theme song used on the program was the original, and not what we are looking for. Correct :thumbsu:

My bad - didn't spot that what you had uploaded was the One Step Closer referenced before ... play on ... nothing to see here ...

I did manage to come across this song by accident on YouTube. A user by the name of "Alfred Cunningham" had uploaded a video detailing the AFL's Centenary Celebrations in 1996 including a 15 minute long medley of all the club songs performed at a special dinner. It included the Brisbane Bears song, which is actually one of my favourites but sadly the video was taken down not that long ago.

Which Brisbane Bears Club Song was played?

Such a shame that the video and the associated account were deleted. I know it wasn't the complete song but the whole medley was great I thought from the point of view of showcasing the great Australian Football tradition of the team song. Perhaps the Centenary Celebrations are available on DVD in Australia? At the end they had the legends game, which was a good laugh with the likes of Maurice Rioli.
