AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
No I don't think his potential leadership credentials were made up, and I really hope he stays for a decade, as I think he is already a good player and it will be our loss. Andrews is still young and will be the next captain.
WA Lad,
assume family still live in WA.
Eagles definitely looking for some leadership
Lions apparently are pretty tight with salary,
I believe OOC 2022
Does not seem to be an immediate vacancy on the wing or midfield at Lions
Very likely be in Eagles best 22...
Apparently playing reasonably well in the 2's chance to manage Zorko and Berry before Adelaide trip, I think Dev could have got a run this week.
WC could walk Robertson through the PSD if they really want.
Do you believe Allen gets a game ahead of McStay?Hey briztoon Would you do a straight swap Dev for Oscar Allen?
Dev won’t be leaving unless WCE offer ridiculous money…. Which they can not afford to do. A small extension won’t be far away unless circumstances change drastically.WC could walk Robertson through the PSD if they really want.

I believe WC can find the money with Hurn and Kennedy retiring. If they could find the money for Luke English or Luke Jackson, they surely have the money for Robertson.Dev won’t be leaving unless WCE offer ridiculous money…. Which they can not afford to do. This is an underrated preview. flipping nice work Ad.Saturday 7.25pm, the Gabba
Make no mistake: this is a danger game for us. The danger is that West Coast might not be able to field a side due
to plague and injury; we play an intra-club practice match and four players go down with ACLs. It's just not worth it.
We have to find a way to get an Eagles team to the Gabba .
Intelligence sources report that a volunteer brigade has been formed from the W.A. wider public and will be ready
to play, should the stand-in players for the top-ups of the reserves of the seconds' emergencies also fall to HS
protocols. Thus far, a hair dresser , three plasterer's apprentices, two midwives and an accountant have put their
hands up for the forward line, a couple of riggers can play tall down back and a group of particularly bossy tuck-shop
ladies are being courted to add some mid-field grunt.
The Eagles have used 42 players in six games and had one amazing win. Their woes just got deeper with, apparently,
two more covid casualties (Nelson, Witherdon) and a raft of potential outs with soft tissue injuries (O'Neill, Rioli, Langdon,
Williams, Barrass) and Yeo, who missed the Tigers flogging, still being assessed for concussion. Then you have the longer
termers: Oscar Allen, Dom Shed and Nic Naitanui…By contrast, and Joe's shoulder notwithstanding, our injury list is as short
as you could reasonably hope for and we seem to have a glut of reservists who really should be playing in a senior AFL team.
In recent history, West Coast had the wood on us until we emerged from our chrysalis in 2019. They'd beaten us eight straight
from 2012 and we've been dominant over the past three years, the final home and away game last year a comfortable 40-odd
point win. If you look through the current Eagles list , there are quite a few big names. The trouble is they're all on clipboards
hanging from hospital gurneys. Those that aren't belong to old warhorses from the 2018 campaign. They are still fine players but
it's hard not to see them on a downward trajectory for a while, even without this year's almost comical misfortunes .
The Lions, on the other hand, are quietly purring. We seem to be in a phase where we have so much talent it's just a question of
finding our optimal structure and we should be able to beat anyone not called Melbourne. (They look as if they could win the next five
grannies and condemn us to playing Hartnell to their Winx.) Joe down means we have an opportunity to experiment but I'd imagine
Fages would go tall again, Fullarton as a forward, though Payne would be an interesting choice. I hate seeing Mitch in the twos. It just
doesn't look right but if it's a question of getting over some niggles and still getting match practice, it's probably sound. Having Nakia
and Mitch serving time in the magoos shows that Fages is prepared to keep rotating the troops and few players will be automatic
picks on reputation. There are about seven different players who could come in for Prior. This replaceability is a real strength but it's
tough on the younger players who've done well when called upon but are just missing out on the best 22.
Key match-ups: Harris will go to the tall bloke from down the pub, Darcy’s a good match up for the pool attendant and Jarrod Berry will probably have a run-with role on the meter reader, who covers a lot of ground but is susceptible to attacks from unleashed dogs. Charlie’s defensive pressure in the front half has been sublime of late. West Coast will have to negate the negator to be still on the map at final siren. Double negatives are not really the purview of the Wellness consultant from Claremont and it is rumoured that negotiations are underway to secure the services of Dr. Hans Freitackler, dept. Philosophy, Stuttgart University, who stepped in briefly in round three when the Eagles were desperately short on categorical imperatives and logical positivism was at an all-time low.
All things considered, if you’re nervous about this one you really should seek help from a qualified mental health professional. Not since the Canary Islands tried to invade and conquer the Roman Empire in 328AD has an expeditionary force from the west looked so certain to falter and I will eat a milliner’s lifetime output should they get within five goals. Prediction: Lions by 600 and at least a dozen from the Eagles’ squad to get food poisoning from the airline cuisine.

I was replying to the general conversation that was about Dev an TBerry.I like dev, but honestly who cares about this stuff. This is our best start to the season since 02 (we will better that start with a win this week), and we are well set up for another finals series.
Worrying that players might leave for nothing is honestly the least important thing in the world right now.
I was replying to the general conversation that was about Dev an TBerry.
As for who cares.
I like discussing the draft, trade period and list management side of the sport.
So I guess I care, because it’s of interest to me.
Keep it out of the preview thread you big nerd
I’d have Lester in my best 22. Severely under rated. Reminds me of Hodge in his last two seasons. Not super athletic but very smart and great use of his body and positioning. Would have him ahead of Rayner up forward, and arguably Gardiner down back. Probably ahead of ball butchers like Berry too.
More consistent and prefer Rayner as a mid.

Sentence afterwards….Love froggy to bits, but c'mon dude seriously?
Sentence afterwards….
Solid back up.Fwiiw I wouldn't have Froggy in the 22 forward or back.
I don't think he's remotely in the class of some of the players he's being compared to.
In the reserves games I've seen he just looks the same as the others who can't get a game.
Solid back up.
Agreed.Solid back up.
Necessary, no.Agreed.
If you're down on options you can bring him in and he'll doo his absolute best to carry out whatever job he's given.
I don't think that's necessary now but not totally unhappy that he gets a game.
