Tenace made one bad mistake kicking across goals. The others though are terrible. I think they'd struggle to get a kick in the VFL at the moment. If we have to rely on many of these guys to play a hand come finals I think we may as well kiss 2009 goodbye.

I think it may be more serious than just Tenace.

My question is: Will Geelong's arrogance in leaving most of their side out cost them later in the year?

It is obvious that a number of players are being 'rested' for minor injuries, but even those that are out there (Selwood, Bartel) look half-hearted. IMHO, you can't pick and choose when you will have a crack and when you won't.

I think that Geelong is treading on very thin ice thinking that they can flirt with winning confidence and form as they are at the moment.

Could the umpiring possbily be worse in this game?? Obviously its having no bearing on the result and with half our starting 18 out I dont care too much, but jesus christ its doing my head in. That reversal of a free against Selwood is possibly the lamest thing I've ever seen:mad:

settle cats wont lose a game again for the rest of the season

Gotta love the kneejerk reactions. Our players are injured. Ergo we don't play them. This bullshit that we're resting them is just that - it was explicitly denied by the coaching staff pre-game. And it's not like most of the kids are performing that badly - Djerkurra and Hogan are currently worth more than Selwood and Bartel.

Biggest concern is that players that are metres in the clear with absolutely no pressure on them are continually kicking to 3 on 1 contests in the forward line. Mooney, Rooke and Hawkins have absolutely no hope when that occurs.

St Kilda supporter in disguise?

If you don't believe the players were unable to play then that's fine, that's your choice. But don't talk about that theory as fact. You don't know, and the fact that you're questioning your own clubs integrity and sincerity is worrying.

On the umpires: They're letting the crowd officiate a bit. Some baffling decisions.

Yeah because Geelong is ALWAYS so accurate and truthful when it comes to injuries . If we lose 7 players from one physical game we may as well stop playing now cause comes finals they'll all be physical.
We had players going into last week under injury clouds, and if we were going to rest players why would we wait until Saturday afternoon to announce we were doing so? Why is it so totally unacceptable to think that we've had one freak week where injuries have been bad?

I've never seen you on here before, Mr. Riddler. I've suspect I was a Geelong member before you were an itch in your daddy's pants.

I can question my clubs integrity if I chose to (I am related to the vice-president, by the way, so I may have additional information to you. Not that gives me more or less right to post what I think on an internet forum). I also chose not to blame the umpires - in interstate games, the home side always gets the rub of the green, get used to it.

The fact you've never seen me here before suddenly indicates that you've supported Geelong longer than I've been living does it? Want to have a crack at my join date while you're at it?

You can question the clubs integrity if you wish, but it hardly seems appropriate in my eyes. But hey, maybe that's just me.

And 'blame the umpires' did I? I said some decisions were baffling, I didn't blame them for anything. Thanks for the 'get used to it' right at the end too, 'cause I'm new to this football caper.

You spoke of arrogance in your first post, I must say your second reeks of it.

Hmmm....skill errors, decision making (or rather the lack there of!), the boys look awful... hard to watch! its not yet time to panic but OUCH this hurts!

Lonergan sure is a shit defender. not that any of the defense has looked flash today but geez he can't do anything but hang onto jumpers because he's always in the wrong position.

As far as learning anything about guys that might play come finals time :

Good flashes from Wojak, Djerkurra and Hogan tonight. Mumford to rest up forward more?

Less so from Lonergan, Stokes and Gamble...:(.

Lonergan got absolutely smashed!

jimmy.h;15053123]Can we please not select Gamble again.

Or Lonergan too. Last year's finals showed he wasn't a forward and I think he's proven beyond reasonable doubt tonight that he's not a defender either

Whose bright idea was it to play him on Jonathan Brown?

It's not just that pass but the other 5 kicks that didn't hit targets. Most resulted in turn overs. In fact in the first half I don't think he hit a team mate up by foot. He's never been able to kick and he still can't.

Can someone tell Lonergan to stop holding on. He was a bit unfortunate with Brown as Brown was doing the same but just got pinged holding onto Bradshaw.
