Would prefer him over mckay

Suprised he isn’t linked. Agree I rate Tommo, can pick up Gorillas and take an occasional intercept mark. Doesnt seem to collide or spoil his own team mates either like a lot of dudds down back do. Has occasional mistake but there are clumsier blokes out there.

Is he past the injury troubles?

He has no value to Melbourne. Future 4
3th if they dont have to pay a cent would be a win for them.
But he is consider very valuable to Sydney if they think they are still premiership contenders after just playing in the Grand Final last year and their lead ruckman retiring this year.

You are valuing Stephen too high....
Nah- north won’t use 16 as they need points to match sanders. AFL will announce they get to treat the NGA as a northern academy player as part of consessions…… so it can be about points

He has plenty of value. Gawn is 32 and one knee injury away from retirement. More than happy keeping Grundy on the books as insurance since we have nowhere else to spend the cash at the moment and all our key players are signed up long term already.

Makes no sense to weaken our list for no return, especially when it involves a contracted player.

You know very well Melbourne are not keeping Grundy.

He’s out the door and a trade will he done.

Pick 13 plus pick 22 from Sydney for Grundy to Gold Coast for Ben King?

Melbourne would need to add another first round pick to that and have King request a trade for it to be even a remote possibility.

#22 will fall to #26 after all the academy and FS selections and seems about right.

That said, Melbourne have too many picks in this draft already and will look to consolidate up or defer picks to 2024. Dees might prefer a deal including F1; F2 and F3; or to shuffle up this year.

What is the Swans academy like next year? Is the 2024 pick likely to be used up as points?

Potentially three in Harrison, Woods and Cochran.

Harrison maybe first rounder consideration.

Cochran and Woods unknown

I doubt there will be first rounders involved

Wouldn’t it be ironic if he’s BOG for the swans to knock the dees out in straight sets 3 years running!😂
Melbourne won't make the top 4 next year. So yeah, they'll be knocked out 1st round.

Zero sense.
Grundy would have offered so much more as a ruckman.

I am sure there is a reason why he didn’t play, maybe he was unwell or maybe Syd didn’t want him risking injury as part of an agreed deal.

Who knows, isn’t something worth losing sleep over.
