Super impressive. 14 touches (6 contested) and a goal in the 1st half. You can just see this kid is all class.

GUN!!!!

Can't argue with that. How comfortable has he looked out there? Outside of Murph in 2006, this kid has looked as assured on the ground as any Carlton 1st year player over the last few years. I think we have a good one here.

Exactly. Is a footballer first and foremost, and is the first player in a long time (with Kreuz to a lesser extent) to look like he belongs, unlike Bower, Grigg, Pfeiffer etc.

Can I just say I think he is the nuggety back-pocket I've been crying out for us to get a hold of in one of the drafts over the last few years. Such composure for a young man, and great footskills to boot. Many years ahead in the Navy blue for this kid.

a player we have been crying out for such a long time. How good is this kid going to be in 5 years time. snuck under the radar in the national draft with WA midfielders masten and palmer staeling the show.

Yep chalk up another little gem for Wayne Hughes and his team with Browney. Bower, Grigg and Rusty were all pretty handy too.

Making a bit of a mockery of Wiseby's rating of him at this stage. I've got to agree with Hughes and co. How in the world did this guy drop through to our second pick?
the WA under 18 team had so many midfielders who the recruiters looked at before browne who played in the national championships in the back pocket.

Its been ridiculous that WA midfielders are slipping through, and turning out to be good players ....palmer, priddis

So glad we took Browne......hard nut, tough kid, super brave, all class:thumbsu:

I was very happy when we drafted him, and I couldn't be happier with his progress at the moment.

He is a natural footballer and he is sound in every single aspect of the game. His disposal is very good, his composure is as good as I have seen from a first year player in a long time. His pace is sound, decision making excellent, as is his courage.

Played a very good game tonight to follow up his impressive debut. He looks a versatile player, too. He can play down back in the back pocket, but he looks like he is able to easily be an integral part of our midfield rotation in the long run. He has shown he can even play on the forward flank.

Very impressed with Steve so far. Well done Browney on a fantastic start to your debut year with the Navy Blues. We've found another beauty :thumbsu:

Has absolutely NO right to show such composure. Love him.
