Actually this is quite wrong. its the opposite actually.
reckless and negligent is about putting yourself in a situation you don't have control of. where the outcome was not of your direct planning, but that you did actively put yourself in a position where bad things could've happened.
no one can say Browne intended that, but it is possible to say that by clearly intending to lay a (fair) hip n shoulder a long way off the ball he was intending to cause impact, just not of the type that eventually fell outside his control. why would you say that a player can ever truly predict the outcome of a hit on an unsuspecting player? many are legal, but there is lot of luck (both ways) involved.
Lets be honest, he was trying to make up ground and lay a clean bump behind play (which should have caused a free kick as the ball was too far away), but you can't say he was a bystander.
I'd not have a problem if it were thrown out and he played this week; but equally he put himself in a position where the outcomes were out of his control - and this year they are penalising that.
