I gave Rockliff two on the weekend, he was very good.

I have Brown and Moloney on 3; Hanley and Zorko on 2; and Leuenberger on 1. I've found it very hard (except for on Saturday) to give votes out to Lions in their losses.

I don't think Hanley has been amazing either, he's been their best in a couple of losses (hence his two 1s), but in their wins, there have been others who have been far more influential IMO.

Betstar seem pretty slow to react to brownlow betting. A lot of players still seem to be short based on last years from rather than this year. One great hawk is being totally ignored and even the poster above me has ignored him but that suits me just fine.

for what its worth, I have luke hodge on 8 (had missed him in my updated board, but have listed his votes weekly), shaun burgoyne on 6 and birchall on 4 at hawthorn. mitchell is the one that looks way too short so far, into single figures some places but that looks more based on what he may do in coming weeks against some minnows rather than what he has done.

Perhaps they are not slow to react, but they think Luke Hodge is not going to win and happy to lay him?

I'd be happy to lay him too. He's never polled over 17 votes in a year in his career. He's not a vote getter. Simple.

Talk about being a smart arse. He's never been able to get it together most years so naturally he hasn't being a vote getter. He's a lock for 3 last weekend, against Collingwood ditto and will poll against Adelaide. His past polling is irrelevent when u look at those 3 big games of his.

He started favourite one year, obviously they thought he "got it all together" that year, and I think polled about 6 votes?

Not a vote getter. Too rough a player. It is "fairest and best", remember.

I love an unbiased poster. :thumbsu:

I have come up with a little system for the 2013 Brownlow, because I like to try and find a few players early and back them at decent odds.
My leader board at the moment ( not including this round is
12 votes K Cornes
11 votes. S Thompson crows
10 votes L Hodge
9 votes Stevie J , Keiran Jack, Jobe Watson.
Not sure how accurate the system is going to be but it's abit of fun,

I think we have a new leader after the weekend.

IMO, Murphy and Hanneberry would be good value smokies for top 3/5.

based on sportingbets odds here are the guys i would consider as they are my top 7 after 9 rounds

gaz 12.5 votes @ 4.50
watson 12.5 votes @ 4.50
hannebery 11 votes @ 11.00
stevie j 10.5 votes @ 15.00
dangerfield 10 votes @ 11.00
boak 10 votes @ 26.00
hartlett 9 votes @ 81.00

the only reason i have the port guys are if the two of them can keep getting the 2s and 3s in their wins or poll in close losses. i think boak is the more likely of the 2 as hartlett has been 'worked out' now.

ROUND 9

2. J. Lewis (Haw)
1. S. Mitchell (Haw)

NM v ADEL
3. P. Dangerfield (Adel)
2. S. Kerridge (Adel)
1. A. Swallow (NM)

FREO v MELB
3. D, Mundy (Freo)
2. N. Fyfe (Freo)
1. G. Ibbotson (Freo)

LEADERS:
15. J. Watson (Ess)
14. G. Ablett (GC)
13. D. Hannebery (Syd)
12. P. Dangerfield (Adel)
11. S. Johnson (Geel), M. Murphy (Carl)

9. J. Selwood (Geel), R. Sloane (Adel), N. Fyfe* (Freo), H. Hartlett (PA), S. Mitchell (Haw)

Would be very surprised if Watson is on 15 or more votes.

I cant see how anyone will beat Ablett this year, ill be betting for places.

I think one player is massive overs so i might put a few bets on him in, into Hawks, Geel, Syd for the premiership (I dont quite think freo can win it this year, but maybe).
