Got Goodes of course...would be a laugh if the world had been backing Judd to get his third but was Goodes who gets his third. Rumour is Judd parked straight turning up at least 13 times this season so thats 13 votes to start with.

Still think a woodsman will win it this year, with dal santo a smokey after an underrated season.

Both Goodes and Judd are instrumental in their team's performances so they both are likely to be voted for!!

Swan has a strong chance as well....but I am a Blues supporter so hope Judd gets it!

Swan was meant to be a runaway winner last year. Hard to predict Swan. Some games you'll watch and think he was ok and then look at the stat sheet and see he got 40 possessions and think wtf?

I wonder the same thing about how Swan racks up so many possessions. Don't get me wrong, he has good evasive skills, is very strong, can kick goals and gets back to help in defence.

I obviously don't watch all of his games so do not want to undersell his deeds. Watching the prelim vs Hawks, Swan got back to take a relieving mark in the back pocket. He kicked a short chip which fell short of his teammate who was immediately under pressure, he ran on to get the handball, gave it off again, then got it back again on 50. He didn't panic and fixed his initial mistake and lots of midfielders do this. The fact that he gets 3 disposals for it might go some way to explaining the disproportionately high numbers he gets compared to some midfielders. It doesn't take away from his ability, just explains why he might not be considered far and away the best mid in the game because of his high disposal stats. He is right in the mix with the other gun mids though.

As for the count itself, if the umpires were not affected by the lack of love for Swan last year, then Pendlebury might be the best bet. So many contenders this year and all worthy. I hope there are no complaints if Judd does not get up. He had a good year and would be deserving again, but the media have looked at last year and overrated him this year because they think he has been better this year.
