Nice rollseyes.

I watched the game, but I suppose you are going to play the "if you weren't there you don't know".

From watching the telecast he was not soundly beaten, from the stats he was not soundly beaten, but by all means try to pull that card.

That is right.

You were NOT there ........................

Gibbs

Brett Deledio, damaging early, was shut down by Bryce Gibbs

I bet you weren't either. Probably just basing your opinion off the one line in a HS article;).

Deledio was zoning back into defence in the first and it wasn't his best quarter, also loved his goal later from a set shot 50+ metres out.

Far more impressive than Gibbs gimmes.

I attend every game Carlton play in Melbourne.

So YES I was there & Gibbs is one player I keep a close eye on.

For someone who wasn't at the game, your opinion means zilch.

Enough said !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure you do;).

Hey at least I paid attention and didn't base my whole argument around misrepresenting a line from a HS match review.....

You have been found out, give it a rest.

Better than having a cry-baby as captain . . .

Yeah, yeah . . . you wouldn't want a player like Roo . . .

Anyway, WTF has this got to do with Bryce?

Ahhh . . . I see . . . the cry-bay comparison.

I understand now. :thumbsu:

Yep, he could be a bit harder at it.

Haven't watched a heap of footy, have you.

Obviously not for r_boy HBF.................

Armchair critic

Well I don't think there's anything wrong saying he's a receiver. He's a great disposer of the pill and is always sought after to dispose of the ball when loose (see that third youtube clip). I'd just like to see more than just receive a ball and a great forward 50 entry or easy goal on the run - especially in a big game.

Those youtube clips exemplify my point:

- The first one he's playing on a near first-gamer in Sidebottom and the ball falls in his lap and he runs off with it. Showed good speed and a good low kick that's all.

- The second one he runs into the clear for a mark and kicks an easy goal - somewhat courageous but nothing to rave about.

- The third one he is on the outside of packs all the time getting easy ball gets and disposing of the ball in the clear (very well too I might add).

Bryce Gibbs is an good player who is excellent at disposing the ball and making good decisions when doing so. However, he does not elicit a "phoooarrrrrr" from me in inspiration like a Brown or Hodge do. I just don't see him as the type of player who is an essential component of a premiership or anything, and I seriously doubt he will be Carlton's next captain.

You had a dig at the captain of my club, fair game for me to have a go at yours.

Gibbs could be harder at it but that won't stop him from being an outstanding player. There are & have been plenty of outstanding players that haven't been hard at the ball.

If anything is going to stop him from reaching the heights that he has the ability to, it will be his lack of urgency out on the field and the belief he seems to have that because he's so naturally talented he doesn't have to bust a gut as much as everyone else out there.

Delidio was very dissapointing .he showed glimpses but then went missing when he was needed ...soundly beaten on the night .
try and watch a bit more footy before you make an idiot of yourself.

No need for personal insults.

Deep down you know you are wrong and Gibbs just isn't that good (I mean he barely broke even with Deledio in a team that dominated), but hey if venting your frustrations on other posters makes you feel awesome then thats fine with me.

Blues man, internet hero:D:thumbsu:.
