seems sos is not keen on any of the crows players. he is after picks. could adelaide be trying to get a few more later picks to satisfy us? would 13 & a pick in the 20s get it done?
Venturing to the Adelaide board's Gibbs thread, it seems they believe 13 + a 2nd rounder will get it done. Problem is they don't currently have one.

Would we accept 13 + 2017 2nd rounder (~35) which values Gibbs around Pick 7.

I like it... somewhat

35 blows out to 40. It is only the points system which rates him at 7 for academies, not reality.

Sorry to intrude, but we'll likely get one for Lyons.

Feel like that Lyons pick (which will be in the 20's) and 13 for Gibbs (with MAYBE a later pick coming back to us, like in Danger/Judd/Treloar trades) will be the deal, hard to say yet though

Prefer to get this years first from crows and next years first as well. Happy to sling them our 2nd pick from next year.

Ok how about this years first pick 13 and next years first and we give you our second pick next year which will prob only be a few picks after your first. As you guys will finish close to top and us close to bottom. I think this is only fair as you already have Bryce in the Crows Guernsey I assume you want him really really really bad!!!!

Problem with this arrangement is if the crows win the premiership and we get the spoon, that swap of next year's picks is essentially a 1 pick upgrade

True but it does give us 2 picks in top 18 and Adelaide still have to win it. This year they had no injuries at all will they be so lucky next year? Two picks in top 18 is a great bargaining chip as well.

Oh no doubt I want him bad, he's a gun. Highly doubt Reid is dumb enough to give up two first rounders though. Who knows - maybe the Lyons pick and your 2nd could be swapped with another team for a first? If 21 and 22 for 11 happened last year, it's definitely possible.

I don't foresee 35 blowing out to 40, more likely 38. With the change in pick requirements for the bidding system, you won't see two picks paying for one player too often, and certainly not from GWS given the alternative is a delisted free agent, a rookie or a bottom-of-the-barrel pick.

you're dreaming this is 28 year old (next season) Gibbs we're talking about. Not Dangerfield, not Treloar...

Although a downgrade of our next year's 1st pick could be better than handing over a stand alone pick in the 20s this year on top of pick 13.

FWIW Gibbs just posted a photo of his son on Instagram with the caption, "lyf". Murphy liked it. Sad to see these two part. Thomas, Everitt & White have also commented on it. Doubt there's bad blood there.

There's been 4 (more?) picks added in this year with FA and PP. Not unlikely.
Apologies all, I've completely misread what #35 was in reference to here. I thought we were talking about Adelaide 2016 2nd round pick (which I'd forgotten they traded last year).

It's currently #35.

28 is irrelevant, that is the prime of a players. Still will be under 30 at the start of his third season at the Crows....

You're dreaming if you think that you are getting Gibbs for just pick 13.

Contracted, high quality mid in his prime who would automatically improve your team. Be prepared to pay big for him this year... or you will never get the chance to get him again.

If Adelaide courted him because of the rumours that his missus wants to go home to be near the parents... and offered to get him and then your mob walks away... you will never get him again and he will stay true to Carlton.

You don't need to be ferrisb to see the real meaning in this one.

Son. Stephen is a son. Stephen is the son of Serge. SOS.

Lyf. Lyf=Life. Life rhymes with Fife. Fife rhymes with, Nat Fyfe.

Murphy is the Captain. Murphy likes it. Murphy likes Fyfe.

SOS is swapping Gibbs for Fyfe. Captain approves. Confirmed.

Could it be a cryptic clue we are getting Fyfe?!

Completely agree.. that seems like its the only logical reasoning behind the caption #Fyfe2017

the comments on that photo are hilarious....

Anyone else get the feeling that the longer this drags on the more we're missing out on other trades?

GCS and GWS have already made some killer trades with Freo and Brisbane improving both clubs draft positions greatly in order to enable the expansion sides the ability to move down the draft order.

McCarthy was traded for -2 points (not only was he free, he gifted Freo several pick upgrades). Brisbane just got the deal of the century for giving up access to McGrath (an extra early second rounder).

We're sitting on our hands here while the world moves around us.

I cant help but feel we're squandering a golden opportunity by procrastinating. I see no reason why we cant turn pick 5, Tuohy and Gibbs into three 1st round picks.

Incidentally you can lock McLuggage in for 1 to Essendon, McGrath at 2 to GWS, SPS at 3 to Brisbane, Brodie at 4 to GCS and English to Freo at 7.

No I'm sure we are doing a lot behind the scenes as opposed to sitting on our hands. I do think however the Gibbs trade has complicated matters. I'm sure the Marchbank deal would have been completed by now had it not been for the Gibbs defection
