What annoyed me most today was that Teakle stopped jumping after halftime, especially at around the ground throw-ups. It was the only strategy he could have brought to compete with Goldstein and he didn’t try it. He then repeatedly conceded front position and gave up far too many frees, effectively uncontested taps and marks around the ground.

Certain people here will talk him up and call for patience with him. The problem is that no-one showed Hayes the same patience and he was twice the ruckman that Teakle has been over a similar sample size of matches.

So, all you Teakle apologists make sure you at least acknowledge that Hayes should be in the side ahead of him. It’s making a mockery of fair and reasonable selection.

It’s actually an indictment on North and their midfield. How do you not do better when Goldstein was given the ball at every stoppage?

I am worried what Grundy and Gawn will do. And I don’t think we have an answer..

What was most concerning was just how many of the hitouts went to advantage. I'd love to see the numbers, but shit he put on an absolute clinic. The only thing that saved us from being reamed in the middle was the fantastic defensive mindset of our mids, and the complete lack of talent amongst their group.

Goldstein was tapping down his players throats all game, it was ridiculous.
