Ignoring all the other facts of the game, you've cherry picked a stat that is not only something unexpected from the role he is supposed to be playing, but also something that is totally a fluke based on Teakles historical performances. Combine this we the reality that his 5 score involvements occurred in an extremely dominant team, where we had 35 scoring shots to 15, way more than doubling the scoring shots. Being surrounded by class that gets results and finishes off work, is far different to being a lone hand, completely destroying your opponent which was the case for Goldstein who had 171 supercoach points, 55 hitouts, 22 disposals, 1 goal assist and **** knows how many hit outs direct to advantage, versus Teakle who had 11 touches, got 1 crumbing goal, and 1 goal assist.
I'm 100% with Schultzy on this, your apologist posting ever since you did that thing for the club is ridiculous. Defending the indefensible, on the basis of one cherry picked stat, which can be discounted by a multitude of other stats is the definition of a 'shit take'.
its a pointless stat in this context when our side was dominant and twice as many score involvements.
if score involvements only count goals and not behinds then Goldstein had 1/3rd of his sides SI
teakle had 1/4th.
if Goldsteins team wasn't horrible he would have had many more.
While I appreciate the other side of the argument
, the number of score involvements relates to the amount of shots on goal per team.If a team is killed like what we did to the Kangaroos today, most of the Port boys will be dominate that stat.

Importantly as I mentioned above, the actual goal assists were 1 a piece too. So Teakles ONLY stat of redemption, is already discounted that quickly. Then comes every other stat to show how God damn embarrassing it is that he is playing AFL football.

Sounds to me like Goldstein just played the least efficient game of ruck dominance in the history of the sport! All those hitouts, all those disposals...and most importantly....all those vital supercoach points for a whopping 3 score involvements!

It's all well and good to bag teakle and I too think he's not up to it but the only reason he's playing his because we have no one better, our ruck division is so bad that we have to play teakle, which isn't his fault.

we arguably plucked him out of nowhere, stuck him on our list to please a coach who must have been begging for an alternative to Hayes, and have brought him into the afl side when he was barely serviceable at SANFL level and he barely can execute basic skills 16yrs are expected to display.
he's the rawest ruck prospect in the league.
maybe, maybe there's something there and miraculously despite teaching athletes to football works out about 1/100 times, teakle is that 100th time it is going to work out.
even then, he could be playing SANFL, learning the basics while we play another ready ruck who isn't conceding best on ground performances to the opposing ruck every week.

today I saw them throw the ball up to no port ruckman, and the commentary pointed out teakle was making his way to the contest but didn't get there in time.
several more times we went with either no ruck, or spp went into ruck, and Im pretty sure teakle was on the ground for at least some of them.
for all the crap Hayes cops, did we ever see him not get around the ground to compete for the ruck?
