For the magpies he’s shown little to next to nothing in those areas

Having said that he’s a 19yr old playing first ruck in our sanfl team. There’s time to develop that or possibly he already has those things to some degree but he’s so gassed from rucking at this stage he’s not really showing them.

But he’s highly competitive in the ruck contest, and I love that. Especially at his age / size it’s remarkable.
He has shown a bit of hunt when the ball hits the deck. Certainly more than I expected based on his post-draft commentary.

I agree with everyone though, what we're seeing from him as a first year ruck has been fantastic though.

this must be the club admitting trading ladhams was wrong. So we let go a guy for peanuts who is dominating at sydney to only trade in a ruckman 6 months down the track. Binkley-ball

If we didn't trade ladhams then we wouldn't have got Josh Sinn who will likely turn into a gun player.

The young fellow has been injured the entire season thus far of course but will show why we selected him once he's back.

Crows have done us a massive favour here. An eccied up & injured 25yo small would have been top of our list.

We finally got one right with these mid-year picks.
The lols if this is accurate they’ve given Stengle away who appears to be able to football for nothing cos of their no dickhead policy only to bring a dickhead in on a speculative pick lol

8. Port Adelaide (via Jake Pasini injury)
Brynn Teakle
Twenty-two-year-old ruckman averaging 15 touches a game in the WAFL for East Fremantle. He can also play forward and his ruck work is developing. He will help a Port Adelaide side without ruckman Scott Lycett for at least another six weeks.

What Port Adelaide said: “He hunts the ball well at ground level and he can go forward, mark and kick a goal. We’re excited about what he can bring to our club, and look forward to welcoming him to Adelaide soon,” recruiting manager Geoff Parker said.

Northampton’s Brynn Teakle hoping for a second shot at AFL in mid-season draft

Port Adelaide are favoruites to recruit East Fremantle ruckman Brynn Teakle in today’s mid-season draft.

Port Adelaide are favoruites to recruit East Fremantle ruckman Brynn Teakle in today’s mid-season draft.

Teakle, 22, has impressed so far this season playing for East Fremantle. He has previously trained with Essendon during the 2020 preseason and been listed as a top-up player by Fremantle under the AFL’s COVID rules. Before the draft, Teakle told the Geraldton Guardian he had put the hard work in and was feeling more confident in his body and preparation after his stint at Essendon was ruined by COVID.

BEFORE THE DRAFT
It’s been a big week for Northampton’s Brynn Teakle — the 22-year-old ruckman impressed in East Fremantle’s victory over Subiaco on Saturday, before turning his attention to the prospect of getting picked up in Wednesday’s AFL mid-season rookie draft. Teakle is no stranger to the AFL, having trained with Essendon during the club’s 2020 preseason before it was cut short due to COVID.
While it did not work out that time, Teakle said the experience further motivated him to chase his AFL dream. “Yeah definitely, having a taste of Essendon and the AFL life I absolutely fell in love with it and I was like, that’s definitely something I want to do. “So yeah put my head down, bum up and just put the work in, putting myself in a good position to hopefully, potentially get picked up.”
The 203m ruckman has impressed for East Fremantle this season, averaging 15 disposals and 17 hitouts per game.
East Fremnatle ruckman Brynn Teakle is a chance to play for WA.

Teakle said having a full preseason under his belt was key to his improved performances this year.
“I definitely feel a lot better, I’m more confident in myself and I’ve got a bigger body, I’ve put on six kgs since last season.
“My preparation and professionalism has got a lot better this year so yeah I’m finding myself a lot more confident at the league level and definitely coping a lot better as well.”

According to The West Australian, Port Adelaide are favourites to recruit Teakle in today’s mid-season draft.
It is understood the Power have put the 22-year-old through several tests in recent weeks and are considering giving him a chance, with the club currently holding pick eight. Hawthorn, who holds pick six, and Adelaide (pick four) have also shown interest.
While not many players get a second shot at the AFL, Teakle is taking it all in his stride. “It’s definitely exciting, I probably haven’t had this much attention for a while. So yeah, it’s definitely nice to have my name out there and a bit of interest, which is good,” he said.

Good pickup imo.Its as hard to develop a ruck ,like a key marking forward.Brynn has an advantage over drafted rookies with the tier2 footy he's already played.
Like Sam Hayes I'm sure he's capable of stringing together half a dozen games. Before he gets first season AFL burnout .If needed in the second half of the season.

Ladhams is average in the ruck and sucks as a forward. He wins alot of cheap uncontested ball and that is it. Much prefer a Hayes and Lord/Teake combination
