http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,22213052-11088,00.htmlSO far, so good ... that was the news from Collingwood training today as Nathan Buckley went through one of the most important training sessions of his career.
The Magpies skipper took part in a series of kicking and running exercises, including short sprints, as he put his injured hamstrings to the test in the hope of playing this season.

Watched by about 100 fans and dozens of media, Buckley appeared to be in no discomfort and may be ready to make his return for Williamstown against Bendigo Bombers at Windy Hill on Saturday....

Is there a chance he will play tomorrow night. If he is going to break down then he mayaswell get to say good bye to fans and we are only playing the tigers

Andrew Hewitt from 3AW/SEN reported all appeared to be OK, so collective sigh of relief, and now lets just pick him for tomorrow nights game, lets not worry about the F&%^ing VFL!!!!

Went to training, Buckley trained with the Williamstown group. After the warm up they went over onto the rugby field while the main group trained. Swarm of camera's followed. They did some handball drills then after the main group finished they came back over and did a keepings off kicking drill.

Bucks got through well and should play for Williamstown with limited game time I would think.

Wellingham could be in line to debut

Lonie didn't train but was probably just managing his op
Pendlebury and Egan still not back
Holland did some run throughs and doesn't look like he will play

Thats great news. Even though im an opposition supporter i hate to see players, especially of Bucks' calibre go down with injuries. Hope he gets through the match against the dons unscathed and we all can see him pull on the Pies gurnsey one more time.

Will the match be televised on ABC? They would make a killing in Saturday arvo ratings.

Thanks for the positive post

The game is not on ABC and is a Sunday game. Would be good if the ABC could make a change to its broadcast to show it however highly doubt it. Will probably have to Windy Hill to watch it.

I went to see Willi and Box Hill two years ago the last time Buckley made his return from injury and the venue was absolutely filled to the rafters. This time it is looking likely to be Buckleys last season and if he (touch wood) happens to reinjure his hammies, could be the very last time he plays! Best to get there early I reckon!

if bucks plays VFL next week it will be @ Port Melbourne on ABC

personally i think he should come straight back in for a one-off farewell game against the dees

what if he's back to the bucks of old in the dee's game? Still leave him out of the finals team?

well then perhaps bucks comes straight back in, tests out his hamstring at AFL match intensity and if he twangs it again announce his retirement after the game proud that he gave himself one last shot...and if his hammy remains in tact its all good then

Just hear on Triple M at work - Buckley got through training however has said that he will not play this weekend at all.

Will require to train next week at full pace before being risked with Williamstown... Wonder if the game will move back to Bendigo now?

On another note they said that Didak was doubtful after failing to train with the group. They did not speculate as to what his injury may be.

Disappointing he will miss, but on the bright side, if he returns in the VFL next week it is a televised game for Willy.

Failing to train, or didn't show up? Probably just resting him.

They didn't say why he didn't train... However if he simply didn't show up I would assume it would be a bigger story that it was. I'm with you in hoping he was just rested from training.

Its going to make for an interesting team selection this afternoon.

Does anyone know what time they announce the Williamstown team?

We are playing a team that has won only 1 game. Why not play Buckley in the FP against Richmond? Who cares what Mathews would think! The worst that could happen is we end up a man down early in the game. What difference would a week make? If he does his hammy playing for Willi it is curtains and we never get to see him play again.

Yeah definately. He has really been struggling on field. Will do him te world of good even to have 1 week off.

exactly.we always play a man down with richards and medhurst on the field anyway.the emotional high of bucks playing out weighs any negatives

I'm thinking that way as well . At least give him a game for the fans to see . If it goes again he's gone and all there are are the memories .
At least make them recent ones and a goodbye to the people .
