Buckley is fine. It's all just a meda beat-up.

My mate is trainer down there and he said whilst he won't play this weekend, hes a big chance to play after break.

despite what has been said on the radio and what was shown on channel ten, there has been no real confirmation that he has re-injured his hamstring. as much as i dread that fate, it is possible that it was a little tight or that it cramped up or some other possibility to explain him limping. i think it is a little early to be mourning at this stage.

I believe in players retiring when they are close to thier peak or maybe slight decline....

so were you one of the ones saying that robert harvey should have retired at the end of last season?

Pssst! DavE...ummm dAVe....errr DAve...oh f*** you know who I'm talking to. Do you think the club would just come out and say..."Buckley's f***ed and won't play again"?

yep....

i believe in giving the young guys a go...the club rebuilds faster...hey its just my opinion..I dont agree that playing is good for the clubs future....

it was bound to happen..as good as Buckley has been he should have retired..I know fans and the media get caught up in the romanticism of players playing "just one more year"

That may sound blunt but its what i have always believed. If you cant hold your spot in the team (or squad in his case) which he couldn't last year even so he should have retired

Maybe so. Plenty of people said Hird was playing one too many, but he has been having a great season...

i didnt mean they would say he's done for, but there does come a time when they would come out and say he has hurt himself again

No they're not

Actually, I tend to agree. Sad for Bucks, but good for Collingwood, in that he can begin his coaching apprenticeship straight away.

As strange as it seems, Collingwood are a better "team" without him.

Poor form. Buckley is a legend of the game, he's been our best player for over a decade, and he doesn't deserve to go out empty-handed as such in that manner.

Are Adelaide a better team without Ricciuto? They suffered their worst loss of the season in Ricciuto's comeback game at the weekend. Hmmm, it's worth it's weight in gold, but it would be stupid of me to say it and mean it.

It isn't a negative thing.

IMO young players tend to go back into their shell when Buckley is playing. Call it something within, but he demands the ball because the player he is.

When he's not there, they back their own judgement and create the play themself. Buckley is a great, but Collingwood play as a "team" better when he's not there..

last year with Buckley in the team after rnd 10 pies were 8-2 with a % of 140

this year without Buckley the team is 7-3 with a % of 108

which one is better?

I really think unless your right in the mix for a flag then theres not much point..Pies in feb were not maybe they are now (unlikely in my view)

Its called playing without fear....and yes its commin thing in footy when a club legend retires...

Mick has stated that this year's model is more developed and better than last year's squad. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.
Buckley is a great of the game, close to Collingwood's best player of all time; people can say the side owes him but no one is bigger than the club and the team. Nothing is owed.

When he is talking about this years squad N.Buckley is an integral part of the squad.......if he plays the pies will be a much better team

I guess the point is moot until/unless we see Buckley included in "this year's model"
From my uneducated point of view I would think that the kids may just benefit that little bit more from his direction and experience on the ground.
I may be wrong........but I rarely am.

I will wait until confirmation from the club or Buckley himself. Not just story-hungry media who saw him grab at his hamstring.

Until then, "GAWN FOREVER" is mere speculation.

He didn't even grab at it. Just pulled up.
