Why is it good news? We still don't know if bucks is a good game day coach.

Extend his contract if we have a good 2016, can't believe we are doing it before the season even starts... Why???

Interesting decision. I can't imagine we are at risk of other clubs poaching him. Would have preferred to wait personally and see how strongly we finish next year.

No need to extend his contract. No one will poach him and his payout will have a direct influence on the club's bottom line and ability to pay another coach with paying the football department tax.

Because Buckley is Eddies love child and Gary Pert is good mates with Craig Kelly. This all about stopping the not renewing Buckleys contract talk if the s**t hits the fan during the year. If his contract is extended and the season is a write off then pay him out and move on. 7 years of utter garbage would be more than enough.

Does anyone think Buckley wont sign until he proves himself next year? Or is it all about ME, ME ME all over again?

I have no interest in turning this into a Buckley bashing thread, but giving him another contract before we see how he performs in 2016 is pathetic.

If he performs well in 2016 I have no issue giving him the extension then.

Looking at the bigger picture we are on the right path. The rebuild on the fly is nearly complete and I'm happy for the club to stick with the process. The past two seasons we have not run the year out due to injury and the youth on the list not having the fitness but thats part of the transition. Its not as if we have collapsed dramtically....we are just out of the eight.

Unless the wheels fall off I'll stick with the clubs strategy...in which case contracts can be ripped up. I'd much rather the contract is signed in the off seasona nd avoid the media circus during the year with weekly reviews of Bucklsys contract status dependeing upon whether we won or lost the week priior.
