AFLW 2024 - Round 6 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I thought this too, but looking at Sydney's list... who (apart from Goodes or Tippett) would be on max deals?
Yeah by strengthening one of our main flag rivals for next year... this helps us tremendously.Bigfooty is gonna make this off season so much fun. Not sure why hawks supporters are angry at swans, this deal works out better for hawks than the gws one
Sydney are trying to buy another premiership.
They are also probably bringing about their own downfall as the pressure will be on the AFL to get rid of the allowance now.
This is a joke.
Who's the next marquee players that GWS could target?
We heard this argument last year as well
Kieran Jack, Hanbury and Kennedy must be playing for chips
Surely Kennedy, Jack and Hannerbry would be on some pretty hefty coin.
Sheahan has a terrible track record, isn't this the guy who first called Tippett would go to Sydney instead of the Gold Coast and then claimed Martin would re-sign with Richmond on the day of their best and fairest? Oh.
yep.
He also said months ago that Roos would coach Melbourne
People will point to COLA and whinge. Meh. No-one was upset with COLA when Sydney missed the finals in 2009.
And watching Mitchell, Biggs, Rampe, Alex Johnson, Hannas, Reid etc etc I can see why the club was confident in the kids.

The assumptions made on here are amazing.Surely Kennedy, Jack and Hannerbry would be on some pretty hefty coin.
How so?
If it's true that the Swans are offloading Mumford contract then I can see this working. Add in the retirements plus a pay cut for the likes of Goodes and OKeefe...

All I'll say is that this should be the spark to make the salary caps and player wages public ala NBA and NFL. If there was transparency over wages then no-one could be upset.
I prey this is true - but what trade chips do Sydney have? Was pretty pretty excited at trading with GWS - but Sydney don't even have a top 10 draft pick!!!!If rumours are true, at least we'll get a trade out of it, not some ridiculously bad 'compensation' from the AFL.
